Need help downloading video from LG Optimus Slider

I’m having a hell of a time getting a video downloaded from my LG Optimus Slider. None of the options that I have to share the video are working. Here’s the details on the video and the phone and what things I have tried so far:

Video size: 29.2 MB. 35.64 MB available of internal storage.

All the apps that I can move to the SD card have been moved there.

Android version 2.3.4

Here are the options I have to share the video and the results when I try them:

  1. Messaging: Message limit reached.
  2. Youtube won’t upload.
  3. Using my Yahoo email account: no attachment
  4. Using my Gmail account : Not enough storage space.
  5. Trying to connect phone to laptop via USB: device not seen.

  6. Message on the phone when trying to connect via USB: “There was a problem using this device as mass storage mssg on phone”
  7. Downloaded a USB device driver for the phone, no luck

I would really like to be able to get this video off the phone. It’s important to me personally and I can’t replace it. Any ideas on what I can do?

Go into options and look for USB connection. There, you will find a checkbox to enable MTP mode. If your pc doesn’t handle MTP, enable PTP mode. Make sure you’re using a USB cable capable of transferring data. (Some are only for recharging.) I’m assuming the video you want to transfer is on the internal memory and not the microSD card, since you could just insert the card into another machine…

Another way you could transfer the video is to use a cloud storage service, like Dropbox or OneDrive. Save the file to your cloud storage account and then download it to local from a pc. The USB transfer will be faster though.

Oh, thank God! Saturn Dreams, your post sparked a memory from waaaaaay down in my sub-conscious… For some stupid reason I had forgotten that I had a microSD adapter, and in more embarrassing news (because why not? I mean, I’m only posting this on the world wide web where I will look like a dope forever and ever… ) I didn’t make the connection that I could just go get another one.

:smack:

Crisis averted. Video backed up to the Cloud.
