Look up and to the right of your screen. Click on FAQ. there’s a link for vB coding under the heading ‘Can I use HTML Code in posts?’
The short answer is to enclose the material you with to quote with {quote}Quote{/quote}, but replacing { for [.

Cut and paste is actually easier, especially if you only want part of the quote.
Also, it doesn’t come out in bold with so much space that it overshadows your own comment.
Just do this:

Odd indeed, lunapark, but, upon reflection, one can make a bit of sense out of it. Trolls are not evil super geniuses. They are misguided individuals struggling to find a way to express and present themselves as noteworthy members of a society. They will do a great many strange things in order to achieve that end.

Me too! Thanks for the pointers; I’d been having problems highlighting text and using the copy and paste commands in the edit menu. The control-c and control-v seem to work.
