My best freind’s husband is graduating from pharmacy school in a couple of weeks, and I want to get him a gift. It’s been a long road for him- he started college when he was in his late 20’s- he’s now 38. I have no clue what to get him. He’s a computer geek, so I was thinking about a gift card to Best Buy or something so he could get a new game or something, but that seems a little lame.
Any ideas, Dopers?
My bro-in-law is about to graduate too, and it’s also been a long road for him (part-time classes on & off for the past ~10 years). Some ideas that have been floated by him & his wife are certificates for things he now has the free time to enjoy. E.g., a Sunday only paper subscription, a certificate to Home Depot now that he can work on house projects, a magazine subscription to something in his interests, or a certificate that supports a hobby of his. So I think a certificate to Best Buy for a computer game is a good idea. Though some gamers get their fix through online subscription, so maybe you could ask your best friend what computer game he would like as a gift, and pay for a period of that online game subscription.
Have his Degree matted and framed. (You’d obviously need to work with his wife to obtain it.)
I love the idea of a cool business card holder as a graduation present. But I don’t know if pharmacists need business cards.
Remember, this is a guy who will have the power to get samples for you.
It is time for a really good sucking up gift. do you know what I would give for samples of my migraine med? And he’s worked his tail off for a decade to make it here. He deserves a mental vacation.
Dinner out & a gift card for a game?
Movie pass & gift certificate?
And naturally, something everyone wants: a skeeball game
