I have been dealing with a sensitive, yet very important issue since my husband (gurujulp) passed. It involves our nine year old daughter. I think it is best that I keep my request brief since it does involve personal details about my child.
We live in Northern California, Alameda county, to be specific. I am looking for legal help with guardianship of a minor and I have been frantically searching for a lawyer who is willing to offer me some pro bono assistance. It is unbelievable how difficult it has been to even get to talk to a lawyer without them mentioning their retainer fees. 
It is difficult enough to try and compose myself while I am on the phone because I still cannot talk about this whole thing without getting all choked up.
Some of them don’t even give me the opportunity to explain my situation. I have also contacted various legal outreach societies in the area and I am waiting to hear back from one of them who showed some interest in helping us out. The rest haven’t responded yet. Someone suggested getting help from law students in the area and yesterday I shot off around twenty or so emails to various pro bono agencies that offer assistance in the family law area.
So…my humble request…if you please know someone personally, or if you know an agency, or if you know of some other awesome way of finding information online, or any thing else that could help me out right now, please please let me know.
