My first exposure to actual, 60’s girls dancing (to 60’s music) was in a movie who’s name I can’t remeber, but it involved some kids trying to get to canada for spring break or some such… Since then I’ve spotted the same dancing in other 60’s shorts.
When I first saw it I was shocked and mesmerized!
First of all, it is NOTHING like depicted in contemporary movies I’ve seen. Holy cow, it looks like their having epileptic seizures! And yet, I cannot look away…
But no one beleives me when I relate my experience! Does anyone know of either a popular 60’s movies that depicts girls dancing in this way, or even better an example I can download on the web?
If you were around in the 60’s and your a girl, and you danced like this, could you tell me a little about it? Thanx!
This probably isn’t what you want, but check out the Indian dance number in Ghost World. It’s from an Indian movie called Gumnaam and the song is called “Jaan Pehechan Ho.”
