Need Windows Live Mail help quick!

I have been using Windows Live Mail on my new Windows 7 box for several months. Today I wanted to email a JPEG. Looking at the top of the Windows Photo Viewer I see “E-mail”. So I click on that which gives me a “Sign in to Windows Live Mail” box. Having no idea what this is, I clicked “Cancel”.

Now Windows Live Mail is disabled on this computer. I can’t get any emails to be sent. (Error ID: 0x8CCC0003)

Is there any way to get Windows Live Mail working again or do I have to buy a new computer?

Thanks.

You definitely don’t need to buy a new PC. The very worst case scenario is you may need to uninstall Windows Live Mail and then reinstall it. But I don’t think we will need to go to that extreme.

The first thing to do is try restarting your computer to see if Live Mail then works again.

If it’s still disabled post back here again.

Thanks for the response. It turned out that by clicking Cancel on the “Sign in to Windows Live Mail” this somehow gummed things up with the email that had the JPEG attached. Once I deleted it from the Outbox, Windows Live Mail started working again. I had already tried a re-boot to no effect.

I never liked Windows Live Mail and thought Outlook Express was just fine. Now I hate WLM. They’ve cluttered it up with so much junk. No, I don’t want to sign in to a Wizard Calendar Account to make an album of videos of snapshots to post to an Instagram Pinterest Facebook Magic Message Viewer to encode for viewing by Laser. I just want to send and receive email.

I don’t like it much either. If you have Office you have Outlook, otherwise you can download a free open source email client like Thunderbird.
