Hey, does anyone have a list of neighborhood papers? I’m talking weeklies, not major dailies like the Trib or Sun-Times.

Pioneer Press has weeklies for most of the northern suburbs, Evanston on up and around. I think it’s owned by the Sun-Times, but I wouldn’t swear to it.

This has been a tough time for neighborhood weeklies. The Booster, which we used to get in North Center, went through several changes of ownership and we no longer receive it; see:

The Reader, of course, remains incomparable, notwithstanding some staff turmoil.

The Hyde Park Herald is, last I checked, still being printed.
