A Sniveling Mess, there was already a thread about Armstrong’s death, so I moved your post thither.
I guess I should have checked to see if there was already a thread about it before I posted mine.:smack:
Thanks for telling me.
No biggie.
I just found out from my mother that my niece didn’t know who Neil Armstrong was. She’s 22.
Was he that trumpet guy?
Yeah, he was in Buffalo Springfield.
Well,my grandmother doesn’t know who he was either-and she was in her 30s when the landing happened!
(To clarify,I think she does have a basic idea of who he was,but when I asked her who was the first person to step on the moon, she didn’t know who it was.)
Anti-climactic. Unless you’re talking about the weather.
All that talk about Isaac has me feeling a little anti-climatic…
So he finally succumbed to the dreaded moon disease
He was destined to go to the moon. Here’s Neil Armstrong’s parents on “I’ve Got A Secret” the day he was named as an astronaut.
I’d like to say, “Rest in peace, Neil,” but that would be in appropriate. Instead I’ll say, “Keep making giant leaps.”
That’s probably one of the best posts I’ve ever seen up here at the Straight Dope Boards.
And he never spilled the beans (about how the whole thing was filmed on a secret site in Nevada)!
Not appropriate.
Hell, I’ve already seen a few scum-bag conspiracy theorists claiming he was murdered, with the heart operation as a cover, to prevent him confessing to the hoax on his real death-bed in a few years.
Obviously he was just about to.
Shh! You want to get a visit from Buzz Aldrin?
See post 54.
This is working me more than I would have predicted. I remember my parents waking me up to watch the landing, and not really knowing the significance, an now I just saw a trailer for this
a movie about those days I’d never heard of, now it’s in the 'flix queue.
:smack:
I appear to have an accute case of information overload.
