First, I’ve been a big fan of Neil for a good chunk of my life. I’ve always found it amazing that after 35 years his songs still move me. Even more amazing is that I don’t think he’s particularly blessed in the singing department.

Anyway, I missed the telethon, but read here and on other boards how moving his rendition of “imagine” was. Of course, as soon as I got home from work, I immediately downloaded it from an unnamed source.

What a beautiful rendition of this song. Can those of you who saw him describe it? Sorry for being a weepy fanboy, but was he at the piano? Who else played with him?

I’m a huge fan of Neil’s as well. Given the nature of the show I was rivited to Neil himself and didn’t catch who was playing with him. Despite not being the greatest vocalist around, I think he did a splendid job. For me, one of the highlights of the broadcast.
