I don’t have Netflix myself and have never ordered a movie from them but my brain damaged friend is asking me a question about it that I’m sure one of you can answer. I’m not using brain damaged as an insult - she seriously had a traumatic brain injury which is why she cannot just call up Netflix and ask them herself.
So, here is her question:
can you figure out how i could rent something other than the nr - not rated version of a movie, for example kung fu panda, when the nr is default?
If Netflix has multiple versions of a movie you can rent the version you want by adding it to your queue. For example, they have both the theatrical cut and the directors cut of Alexander, you can rent either one.
But Netflix is notorious for not carrying multiple versions of a movie. Usually you just have to rent the one version they have.
Edit: You can see the two versions. The Final Cut is really the theatrical cut. They do not carry the Final Cut.
Just off the top of my head you cannot get the final cut of Alexander, the director’s cut of Troy, the R-rated version of Knocked Up, the R-rated version of Anchorman, the director’s cut of Commando.
This is my friend’s follow up question. I have no idea what it means or what to tell her based on what you have said here.
the answer you gave e previously, which i can dig up for you, doesn’t have enough informstion. movies always go in my queue first, what do i do with them then? kung fu panda is sitting in my queie and still says nr. and now i’, having the same problem with hancock.
The problem she is having is that she is ordering movies that do not have DVD’s yet (still in first run theaters) so Netflix does not know what the DVD will be rated. If search any movie that does not have a DVD release announced yet you will get a rating of NR. I do not now how they choose which DVD you get if a movie comes out will multiple DVD’s.
