Netscape question

I use Netscape 7.1. I like to keep the history active so I know where I’ve been. Everytime our circuit breaker blows in our house the history file is lost. Does anyone know what file(s) to archive so I can restore it? Older versions (like 4.73) there was only the file netscape.hst . If anyone knows, I’d appreciate it. TIA

This might help if you haven’t been there.

Go to “EDIT” on Netscape top menu bar
Select Preferences
Navigator
History
Help
Have not been able to find the history file as such.

If the Main OR
Branch CB is tripping it is either an overload or an old breaker. In either case locate and correct the problem.
A backup power supply with surge protection would alleviate you loss of history and other open data files.

What OS are you using? For Windows 2000 or XP the history file should be in

C:\Documents and Settings\**your_Windows_profile_name**\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\**your_Netscape_profile_name\Random?_alphanumeric**\history.dat

I’ve got one. I’m running Netscape 7.01 with Winders 2000. Everytime another window opens it informs me that my Instant Messenger session has been terminated. I have looked through all the options in my profile (Edit-Preference) but there is nothing to shut that off. Suggestions?

troub, I’m running 98, but I found history.dat. Just needed to know the filename. Thanks a bunch!
