Network setup - a very basic clarification of modes?

I’m pretty clever about most computer things at the user level, but networking drives me crazy.

First, I am on a Mac. Lion. Using two Airport Extremes (one older, one newer) and an Airport Express. (Not actually using the express, I just happen to have it available)

Networking would be a tasty piece of cake except for one thing which remains important to me right now: I want my older Tivo 2, which works with a wireless adapter and has limited password ability (it has to be WEP) to be part of the network and available to the Tivo Premiere which has to be and is connected to the network via ethernet) and my Mac itself, primarily because I dump it out to my computer all the time as MPGs and I dont’ want to have to do anything to add it or un-add it, I just want it THERE.

I do have everything working as I want it to right now, which is

Airport Extreme One (newer version) ----->
Time Warner router in bridge mode, and Airport Extreme 2

This is completely bizarre. I NEVER hit the submit button on this, the window for composing it is still open and I’m still working on it off and on while I’m figuring out where I’m at.
