Neuticles for dogs. Are they worth it?

Have I been whooshed? Are ‘Neuticles’ for real? Are you sure the product and the website are just not caricaturing a world gone completely frigging insane?

Testicular implants for Fido? Give me a break, puh-leeeze.

Don’t worry, Duke. The more you say it, the more true it is.

A lab ? How old is he ? They calm down some when they are about three , with 'em or without 'em. My black lab is without them and couldn’t care less. I wouldn’t do it !

I can’t believe you’ve never heard of these. They’re quite real, I assure you, and have been on the market for several years. I figured everyone in the free world had heard of them by now.

As for looking down my nose at people who don’t get their pets spayed or neutered, you’d better believe it. The same as people who don’t get their dogs vaccinated, or don’t put them on heartworm preventative. Because it’s not just a social responsibility issue, it’s a health issue, and animal health is what I’m all about. Leaving an animal uncut leaves him at risk for testicular cancer, prostate problems, injuries incurred while seeking mates, and a host of other problems. To knowingly and willfully do this, in my personal and professional opinion, is the height of irresponsible pet ownership.

A man I know had one ball removed due to cancer. he told me the doctor offered him a “replacement” if he wished. He told me he turned it down. I told him he should have gone for the largest size available, made of brass if possible.

It would have made for some great comebacks.

Yes, but could you imagine what a brass “replacement” would have felt like in cold weather?

I’m a woman and even I cringe at the thought!

Interesting. I read about them not being available in the context of a guy who needed one (or two) and was making a big stink about there not being any available. Maybe his campaign succeeded.

Out of curiosity, why didn’t your guy want a fake one? Was it additional cost, or did he just not care?

Now with transexual surgery they have most replacement parts available. With cancer surgery they advise waiting before the protheses surgery , meaning additional surgery would be required ( =from what I have been told ) He may have been opting out of that.

Not true.

There are “replacements” for human males that have lost one or both. However, not all men opt for such things. I dunno, maybe they aren’t as hung up about it as some other folks.

In the case of cancer, however, some delay between removal and replacement might be required due to medical concerns. For instance, chemo and radiation therapy can both interfere with healing, so that might not be the best time for more surgery. Also, during treatment various tissues might shrink, or require more surgery, so maybe it’s best to wait until that’s all over before moving to reconstruction.

I’ve always thought it very odd that some male humans get their briefs in a bunch over castrating males of other species. Can’t help thinking this is a cultural weirdness - not only have other cultures had no problem neutering farm animals, but any number of past civilizations seemed to have no problem producing scads of human eunuchs.
