It doesn’t show up anymore, except on the graphics one of my local TV stations uses, but on older maps I definitely remember seeing it. Along the Iraq/Saudi Arabia border, immediately west of Kuwait, was a diamond-shaped area labeled “Neutral Zone”. It appears the 2 countries agreed to split it down the middle at some recent point.
Why was it created there? Did anyone own the land there? What laws applied in it, if any? What’s the scoop?
