Just about 30 minutes left until face-off (or whatever you call the start of a debate; I’m a hockey fan). Streaming feeds all over the place online including:
It’ll be interesting to see how Bloomy handles this. He’s got a lot of dirt on him. I think Warren and Biden will especially be on him. He should do less attacking of his opponents and talk more about what he wants to do if he wants to continue. The other candidates seem too busy attacking their fellow nominees. I’m hoping it’s not another shit show of, “Oh, yeah? What about when you blah blah blah…”.
He could go on the offensive, Trump style, too. Hope that doesn’t happen either. “You two are women. Trump will automatically beat you. You’re too old, you’re not even a democrat, you’re gay, and this country won’t support you…” blah blah blah.
A good debate to me is take turns, tell me why you’re the best candidate, then shut up.
I could easily see him coming off as a smug arrogant asshole.
But I can also see him coming off as the smartest and most politically savvy on the stage, even as he bluntly points out that he wouldn’t be in now if Biden, Buttigieg, or Klobuchar had any real paths to winning the nomination let alone the White House at this point, and that Sanders may be on path for the nomination but for losing the general and more Senate seats.
We’re 15 minutes into the debate and Bloomberg has already been totally forgotten. I can’t believe anyone actually thought he ever had a shot. I’ve been saying all along that he’s a pathetic putz with absolutely zero charisma. Hell, I thought he would have at least prepared some kind of dramatic introduction to make, since this was his debut on the debate stage - with all the hype he’s built up, he would want to really say some exciting and engaging words and grab people’s attention when he finally gets his platform at the debate. Nope. Nope nope nope. He has all the charisma of a dead squirrel. Christ, he makes Biden look and sound like Frank Sinatra.
Neither do I. But I think everyone on stage might be a viable VP candidate. Pres? My pick? Still don’t have one. (I’m independent, but won’t be voting GOP for a LOOOONG time.)
I don’t know. People who vote solely on ads may vote for him.
The question is why didn’t steyer get off the ground while Bloomberg did. Both are self funding billionaires. Yeah Bloomberg spent more, but still. Is it name recognition?
