Bloomberg is a smart but utterly unrelatable and unsympathetic man. His confidence comes across as haughty. Once he’s talking he’s not bad to listen to, but he makes it impossible to get past his own negatives.
FFS, he’s smart enough to realize, at least now, that he should get the fuck off the stage and do what he needs to do behind the scenes or from the side of the stage.
Hoping for the largesse from the ultra rich is not a good economic model for the country and certainly the size of your donations should not be who donates the most.
Bernie knows why he is there and also sounds like he has been thinking about it a lot so that he doesn’t have to waste any of our time. Liz knows, and she would support Bernie.
The rest: Do you really think they sound like they know why they are in this, for the US and not ego?
So? Ben Carson was the only surgeon in his debates. Did he seem qualified for…anything?
As a small business owner, and someone involved in a “small business” that is an incorporated city, it drives me nuts that no one ever points out that the best way to lower costs for all businesses and level the playing field is for the government to provide health insurance, not individual businesses.
If Bloomberg comes out with that smart business plan, I’ll give him his point. Otherwise, fuck business owners we’re no more qualified for anything than anyone else.
I am constantly surprised how Buttigieg and others keep laying raising taxes for health care for all gets traction. How hard is it for Sanders to say the vast majority of Americans will save money? Taxes go up, healthcare payments go down more than taxes go up. It is not rocket science.
Bernie just can’t say that taxes will have to go up for everybody to pay for UHC. That’s how Canadians, and the Dutch, and the Germans and the rest of Europe pay for UHC.
Noted. And yes, I agree with that too. It astounds me that we have commercials on TV asking us to give to veterans who aren’t covered. That’s just embarrassing. Of all people that should be covered, we should start with them.
