And is there a He Hate Me league this year? I need to somehow figure out how to pry Eli from whomever kept him; the fact that he blew chunks even in his “good” games last season may help that cause. I’m thinking a draft pick position swap might do the trick, unless there is a sandbag penalty that puts me toward the end of the draft order. (Honestly, I can’t really complain if there is, as I support sandbag penalties in general. The fact that I earned my sucktitude fair and square would be mostly irrelevant toward enforcement of such a rule.)
If it were me, but not me, I would take Julius Jones or Willis McGahee. Both those guys are flat-out studs and will both likely account for over 50% of their respective teams’ total yards. Also, I think they will both end the season with more yards than any of the old-guard backs. (Priest, Edge, Alexander, Green, or even Jamal.)
In a pinch, you really can’t go wrong picking whomever starts for the Broncos.
But then again, what the hell do I know?
The difference is, basically, that you have about a 25% chance of getting Jones or McGahee in the second, while the chances of getting Alexander or Edge are zero.
The He Hate Me league will be back. There was an early thread about it that died after two or three posts. I wouldn’t put much hope in getting Manning, were I you, though.
Fear the might of Dr. Rieux’s Onan Plague!
(yes, I know that should be Oran Plague, but I made a freudian slip.)
BTW, this is my first time at this–anything I should know?
In that #2 position I might well take Manning. The argument against taking him is obviously position scarcity(you need two RBs and only 1 QB) and talent drop-off between first tier and second tier at the postions. However, Peyton’s that damn good. And I’ve had him in my dynasty league for 6 years now . I’d probably be 50/50 for taking Manning, but I don’t think you could fault anyone that did.
Well, once again, it will be all about The Chad.
Unless I can manage to swipe Scary Kerry. IMO, Collins is a better FF pick than Manning, so it would seem an easy trade. And if not, hey, at least he’s an ex-Giant; I can live with that. (Still not sure if I want to keep Lamont or just let him go.)
Hmmm, I wonder if I could trade Lamont for Eli straight up?
Not sure about that, but the Fighting Gorillas are registered to kick some butt!
California Dolphins are in.
The tentatively named “Control-Alt-Delete” team from New York seems to have grabbed the 16th and final spot. (Can you tell I was staring at my keyboard when I came up with that one?)
So, when do we start the requisite bitching about the commisioner’s scoring system?
Ah, never mind. Looking at the league’s message board, I see the bitching has already begun earnest.
is this league closed?
Darn, it’s full. Sorry I missed this thread.
Still six slots open in Cadolphin’s Unaboard league.
I’m checking to see if there are enough people to start a league that would draft a week from tomorrow. Link.
It’s 2 hours till draft time, anybody ready?
