I wonder if this action figure will be busty and wear hip boots.
Librarians, like nurses, are darn sexy in my book and often rate a 10. Must be that whole DoMe Decimal System thing.
mmmmm Librarians…
I’m holding out for a Web Developer doll.
If only to find out what “Realistic Action” i’m meant to possess in real life.
I don’t know what it is about being a librarian that would make prospective dates say “oh, a librarian,” and smile like they’d just hit the jackpot–but it made for some fun times!
For anyone who wants a peek at the action figure, I found a picture here:

I have to say I never wear my skirts that long, heels that low, or necklines that high. But I do have the glasses. Oh and, Shirley, I’m busty and like to wear hip boots
Sadly, it looks a bit like me in a skirt.
as a male librarian, I’m hoping my action figure will be in a tweed jacket with special durable leather elbow patches, leather sandles and bright socks.

and I wonder why I have problems with the chicks. Still, as a solace,
"people become librarians because they know too much. Their knowledge extends beyond mere categories. They cannot be confined to disciplines. Librarians are all-knowing and all-seeing. They bring order to chaos. They bring wisdom and culture to the masses. They preserve every aspect of human knowledge. Librarians rule. And they will kick the crap out of anyone who says otherwise. so watch out, for we are The Scourge of the Ignorant!! Gosh, I’m all worked up now. Time for a cup of Earl Gray and a chocolate biscuit…
<booklover sticks head into thread>
So lauramarlane, how you doin’?
[sub]Yeah, that’s it. Booklover.[/sub]
utkik, I don’t know what’s happened to library avengers, but I haven’t been able to get to it for several months.
And may I just say: :smack: The story about the librarian action figure came across the the Maine libraries e-mail list last week, and of course I didn’t even think to post it here. I am such a bad Doper.
Oh, and I forgot to ask - does your screen name have anything to do with UTenn Knoxville or am I making assumptions?
Ya know, you’re right. :eek:
Robin
Hey there, Sunspace, can I interest you in something on a low bookshelf?
looks over her glasses and tucks pencil into hair bun
Of course, part of me is screaming “will these stereotypes never die?!”
Interesting action figures?
Three initials: F. D. R.
(Sure, they’re releasing all of the six major world leaders of WWII, but Hitler is so old hat. Nobody gives a hoot about FDR anymore. Look at that wheelchair!)
So, lauramarlane, how…
<preview>
Damn you, Sunspace!
Lsura the library avengers changed from .com to .org. I only found it again today by accident.
FYI, nah the name has nothing to with Knoxville, I’m in Kildare, Ireland, begorrah!
Ah, thanks, utkik.
BTW, the correct librarian avengers link is: http://www.librarianavengers.org (I had to go hunt to figure out why I kept not connecting to the site).
I still really want one of the t-shirts, but I think it has to wait until I finish grad school.
This is the same company that makes “Nunzilla” - my husband has one. It is a nun that walks and breathes sparks…scary…
ignoring the dress sense there is an uncanny resemblance to Francesca
Ah, so, Archie McPhee strikes again.
They already make a coffee bar waitress action figure, a slacker action figure, a Sigmund Freud action figure, and a Jesus action figure…
Do you have anything on… figure drawing?
