New Avengers Trailer

Yeah, but he also had Pietro and Wanda and they’re out and about too.

He created them, basically. I guess von Strucker is having a bad day in this movie.

That’s a great line, but here’s what went through my mind during the trailer:

“People have looked to the sky, and seen… cleavage…”

Totally with you, those sorts of “filler action scenes” actually slow things down for me and I usually can’t wait for them to end. They’re usually released in the third act, as what the Big Bad thinks will be their undoing, but you know all it does is add 20 minutes of gratuitous action to stall getting to the Big Bad.

I dug Natasha’s line after she dropped out of the quinjet on the motorcycle - “Always picking up after you boys” as she leans down to snag Cap’s shield from the road.

And somehow doesn’t sever her fingers. Is that a superpower? Unseverable fingers?

When I see her, I’ll let you know.

You’re a much classier person than I am. The word in my head at that moment was “tits”.

And as a heterosexual female I’m generally not that much of a tit-noticer. But the fanservice in that scene was so blatant anyone could spot it.

That’s me! Classy.

Ya lost me on this…explain please?

“tits” is slang for the secondary sexual organs of adult females. The etymology stems from the word “teat”: a nipple of the mammary gland of a female mammal, from which the milk is sucked by the young.

I had no idea what was being discussed here - was there a gratuitous shot of ScarJo I missed or something? - so I went back. This is about when Ultron is saying the Hope line, they flash to some civilians up in a building looking through their windows at what’s happening - and one is a girl in a lowish-cut top.

Really? That’s fan service these days?

:smack:

No discussion of the Vision at the end of the trailer and how he might figure into the movie, or are we so afraid of offending the spoiler-averse that we want to leave it alone? Anyone (slightly) disappointed that Hank Pym might not be involved, which would have been a great hook for Ant-Man. I truly understand having to condense storylines and casts when adapting to movies, but they’re also building a universe where the character who should be involved is appearing later this year.

Having Pym be the “father” of Ultron doesn’t make sense in the MCU, while having it be the brainchild of Stark makes perfect sense. Doesn’t matter what the comics have established over the years. Pym isn’t part of the MCU yet, so Ultron gets a new daddy. Doesn’t bother me in the least.

I agree, and would agree wholeheartedly if Pym wasn’t being introduced, played by Michael Douglas, in Ant-Man later this year. It doesn’t have to be a big, important role; have Pym as co-creator to introduce the character and to promote Ant-Man, and to let the movie fans know that he is a brain on par with Tony Stark. You could accomplish that with as little screen time as Powers Boothe had in Avengers. (Of course I’m ignoring how many films Douglas might have signed for, shooting schedules and availability, or whether he was even cast when this was being done - all which might have affecting writing decisions)

We’ve only seen a few (3?) 2 minute trailers, and they cover a lot of the same ground, so maybe they do and it’s just not in the trailer. But I doubt it.

Who knows? They might toss in a line from Stark about how he scavenged the AI coding from a failed project that a guy named Pym had been working on.

Vision was my favorite superhero for awhile as a kid. I’m just praying they don’t screw him up. He looks promising.

I had to go back several times, and still, other that the redhead with the slightly low cut blouse?

What’s with Hawkeye’s Wolverine claws?

Same here. Is that it?

Yeah. I went back and looked again; if I actually took the time to freeze on it, she’s a bit pushy-uppier than she needs to be. But, jeez, I would never have noticed if it wasn’t for this thread…
