New Doper Picture Thread

To see if I can get facebook to link…

Me at the work Xmas bash - I don’t normally dress this way…

Me on a more normal Friday night…

Me on Halloween 2008…

labtrash, you have that classic guy look, that look of “is this camera working or do I need to tinker with it some more”.

Here’s a recent one of me and my hubby in a Roman theatre in Spain, this spring. I’m hiding partly behind him, to look slimmer.

This is me feeding my baby son puree from a shell at the beach…

And this is me standing in a very red brook, one of the tributaries of the Red River in Spain. And yes, that’s the waters natural color.

Dude, you were awesome in The Talented Mr. Ripley:)

(that is meant as a compliment)

I did have one person refuse to believe I wasn’t him, despite my accent. My defense was it was 1 am, the lighting in Rob’s Western Room isn’t the best, and she looked like she had opened the place up…

I guess I don’t hate this picture that I managed to take of myself today.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else think they look better in pictures taken with real film? I think I used to photograph better in the predigital days…

Yes. Digital photos make me look 40 lbs heavier than I was back, say, in high school.

Maybe if you didn’t look so terribly distrustful of the camera it would cooperate sooner.

Bah, I never look good in pictures, whether they be film or digital. I post them knowing people will laugh. So be it…

Cite?

I think it’s a function of detail. Film gives you less detail than modern high-quality digital, so people look less… human. Just for shits and giggles, I ran your photo through a few PhotoShop filters and removed all your pores, made your skin plasticky, gave you anime eyes; you know, all the stuff they usually do to fashion models. This is just a quick slapdash job for reference, but you can see how removing details makes people look more “modelish” – and less human.

:stuck_out_tongue: Oh, people here don’t outright post, “Geeze, you take terrible pictures, taters!”, but I know they’re smirking in secret.

Seriously, my head is ALWAYS cocked to the side, I don’t know why. I can’t smile for a picture and have it look natural, and well, I guess I just don’t photograph well. It’s okay, it’s not like I’m trying to make my living by being a model.

I think the shirt was a nice touch.

If only reality responded as readily to PhotoShop as photographs…

Hey, the original ‘for the win’!

(Now I’m not cheating, by looking this up on the web)

Sneezy, Sleepy, Happy, Grumpy, Dopey, Bashful, Doc…

Yes!!
I’m not even a fan. If only I could remember the names of some of my long-time co-workers!

Whoa, your eyes are delicious. I may eat them at an unspecified later date. BE WARY.

And then there is that whole, some of your features may not transfer well to a two-dimensional format…

~S.P.I.~

Why thank you.

I love putting faces with the screen names. I just hope I’ll be able to remember them all!

Here’s the Joe Kerrman enjoying his daughter’s high-school graduation dinner outside.

And making homemade deep-dish pizza.

Yeah, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? In the time I’ve known you, I’ve got from bony skinny to plump (up 80 lbs on prednisone, lost about 30).
You, on the other hand, keep improving.

you are the first.

Now I have to figure out if that’s a good thing or not. heheh
