New Dr. Who Starts Saturday

The first of thirteen 45 minute episodes is broadcast at 7.15 Saturday evening on BBC1. The new edition of the Radio Times has a 16 page guide to the series, including a brief description of each episode and tons of background information.

The BBC’s website also has a shedful of stuff. Blimey - Billie Piper’s looking old these days!

I think Tennant is a lot better suited to the role than Eccleston.

Billie Piper’s only in part of this season, right? Shame, although I won’t miss her damned mother (“Is she safe?” “Will she be safe?” Tell me you’ll keep her safe?")

Blasphemer!

Ok, so I only saw one episode with Tennant and he was out of commision for most of it. But, I love Eccleston as The Doctor.

I just went to that web site and I’d just like to say GOOD FOR THE BBC for providing a text-only option for those who can’t (or don’t want to) use the bells and whistles version. My esteem just went up several more notches!

I’m still getting caught up on last season. I love Doctor Who!

Alas, the CBC won’t be showing it a week later, as they did last year. Some nonsense about “hockey”. :frowning:

The CBC did show the Christmas special, and I missed it!

Up to now there has only been one episode (the Christmas special) with Tennant. I expect he will get into his stride with this new series.

No, Billie’s in the whole of series two, and apparently series three as well.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Cybermen, the Daleks were IMO done quite well, it’ll be nice to see another classic foe get an all new story.

Are the stories in the same format? One hour an episode, one story per episode for most stories? And is there to be another “Bad Wolf” style subplot? That was something I could have done without…

It’ll be nice to have a series without Rose (for a change, not that she’s too bad a character) after this series and Eccleston was at times a tad too emotional for me as the Doctor so perhaps Tennent will pleasantly surprise us.

Episodes 5/6 , 8/9 and 12/13 are two-parters, all the other ones are stand alone.

Excellent, 5/6 are episodes “RISE OF THE CYBERMEN” & “THE AGE OF STEEL” a two parter with the scariest Dr Who foes!
