Typing from an iTouch - email has changed. No new one at new job for two weeks. Suggestions?
Are you asking for general purposes, or just so you’ll have an updated e-mail address for here? Either way, the answer’s the same: Get either a GMail or Yahoo account.
Moving to General Questions, as I think this is a GQ kind of thing.
Wait, you got a new job, and IT hasn’t set up email for you in two weeks? Are you sure they actually gave you the job?
Walk into the IT department and ask them if they got your email about your issue. When they say no, you can say “oh yeah, that is the other thing…”
Talk to your boss, and tell him how you are having a hard time performing the work they are paying you to do, since IT still has not set up the email you need to do the work.
(Assuming, that is, that email is needed for work purposes.)
Man, my boss would get on my ass if I didn’t have a user’s account ready to go before they walk in the door on their first day of training. 2 weeks is ridonkulous.
I used to work in IT and a lot of time the problem was your boss may not have told IT that you were even hired. Sometimes we would have users sitting at there desk for a week before the notice even came in to create an account for them
Actually I meant wrt my account - my work email was my valid email address for the Dope. No matter, today they provided me one finally.
(I do have another email but it’s so littered with Spam as to be unusable).
One of my perennial complaints as an IT manager. I have taken a hard line with departments: if departments don’t tell us a new person is starting, we will get to it when we can, and not before.
