Salem said she’s bringing potato salad… I have plenty of paper goods and plastic cutlery and cups and napkins. I will be hitting the store for grillable stuff Friday and I’m going to make ‘Grandma’s Beans Recipe.’ Bring anything you think makes a good cookout 
Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll be away this weekend, so it’s no go.

Well, I’ve gone from a maybe to a definite. I’m psyched; I haven’t gotten together with Dopers in a while. E-mail for directions on its way. Ought I bring anything?

So folks, I live near many farm stands – should I bring a big salad? Or is that too nutritious, and should I bring another dessert instead?
Bring something you like I know I won’t think to make veggies so that’s a good idea - just remember dressing!
Hmmm…Haverhill is just over three hours from here, I believe. I’m not currently in NE (near Albany, NY) but I am from there originally. I might be able to make it out there…it all depends if I decide to go home by then. See, I just graduated, and don’t have a job yet, so I have to move back home. However, I might have a job in NJ, and if I get it, then I’ll stay here till I move there, and I’ll be able to attend.
If you can make it here you’re more than welcome to attend…

I don’t mind if you bring beer as long as I don’t end up with passed out people on my lawn! I don’t drink personally because of health problems but I’m not morally opposed to it

I’m totally alcohol ignorant. You do not want me picking your wine/beer/spirits! I tend towards the “oooh what a pretty bottle” or “Oh look it comes with the cutest little glasses” and in reality the drink is swill.
I’ll have plenty of soda on hand. I have to remember to buy ice. Good thing I’m only 2 blocks from the plaza!

I’m thinking I’ll bring some fruit/fruit salad-type thing? Nothing special since I don’t really have time, but I’ll get some from the grocery store.

It’s a little too far for me, or I’d be all over it.
Oh come on, Exgineer. What’s a 5 hour drive amongst friends? Maybe I will get my yard and house cleaned up at some point and host the next one. North Central MA would be a little closer. Of course by the time I get things back in shape around here, we’ll probably all be driving hovercrafts. Should cut down on the driving time.
I’m thinking it’s probably closer to 3 1/2 hours, but still…
I’m bringing the buns! Hey, knock off the comments about my rear end, all right? Just because I spread a little (okay, a LOT) this winter… :mad:
Anyway, I’m bringing hot dog and hamburger buns, and… hmmmmm… anything else I see in the store today that looks good. Chips, anyone? I’ve got these 15 jumbo-sized bags.
