Fringe is back, on a new night. A Friday night slot may not be a good sign, but I really hope it won’t be a death sentence for the show. This season has been really great–the best science fiction currently on television, by far. (I know, I know–that’s not saying much these days!)
I wonder if the “war” between the two worlds will be resolved this season. I hope they don’t try to drag it out forever, like The X-Files did with its overarching “mythology” story. So far, they’ve been good at balancing out the parallel world plotline along with freak-of-the-week stories.
I hope they continue to deal with the fallout of the Olivia/Fauxlivia switcheroo. Things should still be awkward between Peter and Olivia, and she’s still got to be dealing with some sort of identity crisis.
Don’t know when I’ll get to watch it, because tonight the hubby’s out and tomorrow evening we have plans, but it will be waiting on the TiVo for us and I’m looking forward to it. I agree that it’s the best sci fi currently running and I love Walter. I want Olivia to get over her problems and be with Peter I want them to be together.
I liked it a lot, too. It’s always cool to learn a little more about The Observer, and he was pretty bad-ass in the opening sequence. Catching bullets is a nice trick–I wonder how he’s able to do that. Freezing time?
Christopher Lloyd was good in a fairly low-key role. I’m glad they didn’t have him playing some wacky Doc Brown-type character.
I liked how they used the gift book to bring up the Peter/Olivia issue. Things are still touchy between them, but there was some some progression, some healing.
I am watching it right now, and it’s very good. I almost missed it due to the Friday time slot; I am also afraid that it’s going to die in this Friday tv wasteland.
I’m actually thinking that wrapping things up this season, or possibly one more, might be a good thing.
Season 1 - Meet the characters.
Season 2 - Here’s the main story-line, parallel universes.
Season 3 (12 episodes) - Here’s what the other universe and its inhabitants are like.
Second half of season 3 or all of season 4 - Here’s how the Observers and everything else all tie in together and here is how everything gets resolved.
Something that bugged me, if the Observers can travel through time, why didn’t they do that to fix the problem of the one Observer keeping Walternate from seeing his successful cure for Peter in 1985. I know, because then there wouldn’t be a show.
Niiice. Although, it doesn’t seem like Walter to believe in such things as “auras”. Unless he has some fringy science theory surrounding it. Otherwise that gag came off as incredibly crack-potish.
I would like a pair though. Especially useful for anaglyphic 3D viewing and for drivin’ the ladies wild!
Here we have a sci-fi show on FOX which just had its timeslot moved and has people worried it will be canceled before it can finish its story. Episode title: “The Firefly”
