New episode of Fringe tonight - 1/21/2011

When the observer said to peter, “It must be hard…being a father” I wonder if that means there’s a baby that the audience isn’t aware of, or if the observer is looking into the future. I’m guessing the later.

Oh man, I just had the most awful thought: what if Peter knocked up Fauxlivia? If he ever found out, he’d want to rescue his child…and then end up just like Walter!

I know! And we know from the very first episode with the other world that one doesn’t necessarily have to exist in both worlds - in one version of Boston a woman had a twin, and in the other she didn’t - so the fact that our Olivia isn’t pregnant (probably) wouldn’t rule out Peter offspring with Fauxlivia, either.

Well, if Fauxlivia is pregnant with Peter’s baby and Oliva finds out that will further strain their relationship (Peter and Olivia’s).

Also, the baby would be unique. Half from this world and half from the other. No doubt some plot would be built around that if the show lasts long enough, and Fauxlivia is, in fact, pregnant with Peter’s child.

You know, Fauxlivia really doesn’t seem like the type to forget to use birth control.

Maybe not using birth control was part of her mission. Walternate might have theorized that whatever allows Peter to operate the Machine could be passed on to a son. If they couldn’t get Peter back to their side, the kid would be a fallback.

Plus, I’m sure he’d love to be a grandfather.

Actually wouldn’t it be all from the other side, since Peter is originally from over there?

:smack: You’re right.

Interesting theory, but given how different Observers are from regular folk, I wonder if they even have a concept of making shit up that way.

Or, since Walternate already knew that men in his family get all crazy about their (or “their”, in our Walter’s case) kids being on the other side, it could be a plan to lure Peter back.
