I love that they added the ability to subscribe/unsubscribe to threads at will.
The bb board had it, glad the update here does.
I especially like the list of all subsribed threads under User CP.
Also, the private message feature might wind up being pretty nice too.
I like the vB code buttons, it means I am less likely to accidentally to bold the whole post.
The new features are fine, but I hope you didn’t pay a lot of money for them; like someone already mentioned, I probably won’t be using many of them.
One feature I would have loved to see is a “Forum Jump” on the top of the page as well as the bottom (it would save a lot of scrolling, you know). Oh well. Just glad the board is back up and taking all my spare time again.
I like the new fonts.

I concur. Bring smashie back if it is possible.
My votes (as if they matter):
No to animated smilies (it is to late to win the “no to any smilies” war)
No to varying font sizes
No to varying colors
No to sigs default on
No to member created polls
No to Private Messaging (we all come here to talk in public; there are many ways to talk in private)
No to IMG codes
Yes to avatars (but I know what a system drain they are so I understand the no).
I don’t mind the font-and-color-changing options, but I think the folks that abuse them are going to get hunted down by the rest of the board and killed for their visual assaults. 
And I miss Smashie.

The colored text I could do without. Seems rather prepubescent. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But overall, I have no complaints. I do think that after the novelty of the colored text and sizable fonts wears off, you will see “standard” styles emerge, and all the bells and whistles will be forgotten. The “tag” thingie I do like, alot. Saves me frustration.
So, what I guess what I am saying is…
WHO cares?

I agree about the Forum Jump at the top of the page, F-lou. I really liked having it there, and not having to go to the bottom of the page. (Have it in both places.)
