New eipsode of Firefly, “War Stories,” tonight on FOX at 8 pm EST, 7 pm CST.
Just wanted to let people know, since FOX is in rerun season, the show is so iffy, people have asked about when it’s on, and I figure SOMEONE should advertise it, if not the network.
Oh yeah Kn(doesn’t pay all that much attention)ckers, the advertise the heck out of it. FOX starts their big campaign about 30 seconds before the show comes on, then there’s the blitz right in the middle of the episode and a final big promotion right before “John Doe” comes on.
The same plan that worked so well with “The Tick”.
Ah, silly me for not noticing. Well, I’m sure this method works mighty well with their more perceptive viewers. Mighty well. carni: Shockingly enough, I first heard about it from an add on Fox, a couple of weeks before the premier. My reason for thinking it would be worth watching? They mentioned in the add that there’s a “tough guy named Jayne” (or however it was they worded it). I thought that was brilliant, and that fact alone probably made it worth watching. Turns out, I was right that it was worth watching, but there are lots more reasons besides Fun With Gender.
I first heard about Firefly from (I think) Entertainment Weekly. It had a story on Joss and the projects he was working on.
Before the season started, there was an article in the TV listings suppliment that came with the Sunday paper. I saw “Joss Weadon”, “cowboys” and “shapeships” and knew I was going to watch. No matter what.
Re: Jayne
I thought it was funny the big tough guy was named “Jayne” seeing how there’s a sect of Buddhism called “the Jaines” who are very much un-Jayne-like. I’m sure it was just coincedence and Joss didn’t do it on purpose. Sure.

The episode Heart of Gold was originally suppose to air on Friday, December 13 but Objects in Space is taking its place. I have no idea what it is about.
I heard about it in Fox ads too, before the season started. The “girl in the box” part was what intrigued me, although I have not seen one single girl in box this whole season. I’m assuming it’s something from the pilot, and I think it’s pretty obvious who she turns out to be, but still …
I’ve been trying to get people to watch it but they all claim to have lives on Friday evenings. Sheesh.
I first heard of it via a Fox ad prior to the first showing. Probably the only advertising Fox has done for this show. (and I don’t usually use smilies, but I’m gonna use 'em here…   )
Now that gallows fodder mentions banner ads, I DO remember there being a Firefly ad when I checked my e-mail (Yahoo) right before the new TV season. I think it lasted about three days.
It was annoying and I ignored it, even though I had already made up my mind to see the show.
