I generally like the duck commercials. I especially like the “WTF” expression on the face of the black guy at the end of the commercial (hot dog vendor, guy building a snowman, etc.).
The new Toyota Tacoma and Tundra commercials are pretty darn funny.
I wouldn’t mind if this one ran for 20 years. I’d still have a smile.
The other one I like is the NAPA commercial (I’m a J Gordon fan) where Michael Waltrip/Ralph Jr. are sitting next to each each other and Mike talks about Ralph teaching him new dance moves. Then a bass line starts and Mike tries to be gangsta from Ralph’s teaching, and Ralph denies any connection. Classic.
The new commercials for ‘Total’ are pretty funny. Its like they saw the SNL skit ‘Super Colon Blow’ (which originally a parody of the Total Cereal commercials) and just played along.
So this elderly mom is giving her grown-up son breakfast in bed. And they’re doing the “You’d have to eat 125 bowls of corn flakes to get the same chromium as Total” and the mom is piling up all these bowls all over the place. At one point the son says, “Can I go?” and the mom replies, “Not till you’re finished”
Those Bud Light commercials during the MNF game were hilarious.
You’d have to be familiar with the ads that Miller Lite has been running to get the joke, though.
I think I’m the only one who likes the commercials where the people are trying to order something over the phone and the person is standing in front of them waiting for them to make the correct “beep.”
Beeep
Booop
Beep
Boop
And then the guy sings the hold music, that cracks me up.
“…ing with the Queen of Hearts. The joker is the only foo-oo-ool. . .”
I think those are funny too. I always “boooop” along.
Netzero is doing a very accurate and hysterical parody of the AOL commercial where everybody wants to meet with the head of AOL, except in this one they want to tell him they’re leaving.
You aren’t the only one. I think those are hilarious–especially the one in the lawn and garden store where the guy walks up and tries to help and ends up ordering 4 million dollars worth of lawn supplies and then says “Okay then” and just walks away.
Netzero has another AOL parody commercial that I just saw last night. It was so good that it took me a minute to realize it wasn’t actually an AOL commercial. It was the one with the mother who walks into the AOL office, hands her baby to the guy next to her and the steps up on the desk.
Here, here!
I’m left wondering “Why can’t you take care of the kids, buttwipe? Cut too much into your manly man time?”
Or is it “hear hear!” ?
my favorite commercial of the moment is the mastercard spot with peyton manning. both of them are funny, but the one with him cheering on the deli clerk and begging accountants for autographs is genius. i don’t laugh out loud at tv a lot, but every time this commercial comes on i can’t stop myself from giggling.
“CUT THAT MEAT! CUT THAT MEAT!”
Are those the ones that advertise as:
ROOMIER
BRAWNIER
VERSATILIER
If so, I like em too
Or when the guy is filling his car with gas: “Aaaannnnd… it’s FULL!”
“Come on, you’re my favorite accountant. You’re on my fantasy team.”
“Let’s go insurance adjusters, let’s go! clap clap”
at the end, where he shows his hand to everyone after the accountant slaps it, man, that just cracks me up.
i usually dislike sports figures in ads, because the ads are dumb, and/or (most likely and) the athete just sucks at acting. but peyton is perfect.
another ad i like is a ups one, maybe. can’t quite remember which shipping service. maybe fedex… it has some nerdy computer guys in an office dancing to salt n’ pepa’s “push it”, blasting out of an 80’s era boombox.
Oh gawd yes! It’s for Nextel phones. I HATE those ^%@#^ beddleybeep walkie talkie phones, but those guys dancing and rubbing themselves cracks me up.
It must be something with his delivery.
Earlier in the season, the NFL was doing heavy promotion of their fantasy football leagues. Lots of players with their “owners”, talking about how great it is to be a member of their team.
Most of the commercial left me saying “meh”. But the way Peyton says “I’m Peyton Manning, and this is what I play for”, while holding up the dinkiest trophy possible, really made me lose it.
now that i think about it, he was in another one of my favorite commercials. i think it was a x-box ad for either a football game or their headset that lets you talk to other players during online play. anyway, peyton’s playing this game and his attempts at trash talking are pitiful. that’s been ahile, though, and i can’t remember any quotes or anything.
it’s nice to have a recognizeable, funny, non-embarrasing sports figure in indianapolis. we’ve had such sorry-ass teams until a couple years ago. i always thought that it would happen for reggie miller, but for some reason it never did. the guy is super funny, was great player in his prime, and is always extremely quoteable. but i can’t remember him shilling for anyone. maybe it’s his gollum-like visage.
ummm…isn’t that an actual AOL commercial? She makes her demands and in the end the AOL execs agree with her. Thus showing AOL really cares about its members concerns. Right? Maybe I am confused.
The NetZero one I like is the spokesguy reflecting on his campaign and the friends he has made and holding up five fingers when he says he’ll be back in four more years…or something like that.
Plus his fake beard is funny.
