Good news, everyone! Just in case you forgot, Futurama: Bender’s Big Score comes out on DVD this Tuesday, Nov. 27. The DVD includes the movie, commentary track, a short documentary about math subjects in Futurama, and the full 22-minute pilot episode of Everyone Loves Hypno-Toad!
In Bender’s Big Score, there are evil Internet-scamming alien nudists, the secret to time travel is tattooed on Fry’s buttock, and Leela falls in love with a mysterious stranger.
I found a couple reviews from people who have already seen it. They’re mostly quite positive.
As presented by Sarah J. Greenwald, who according to her website, also gets name-checked on a chalkboard as the originator of “The Greenwaldian Theorem.” Dr. Greenwald is the founder of Simpsonsmath.com and its sister site, Futurama Math. Her paper Klein’s Beer: Futurama Comedy and Writers in the Classroom, appeared in the March 2007 issue of the magazine PRIMUS: Problems, Resources, and Issues in Mathematics Undergraduate Studies. As someone who hated math in high school, I don’t know why I’m interested in Dr. Greenwald and her studies as I am. But “Witten’s Dog” sounds really funny even if you don’t like math. Saw it last Night!!! Man it is soooo good to see new Futurama!!!
Some great gags, some wonderful sad moments some bizzare twists of fate and some surprises!! Oh yeah and lots and lots of ASS…
Not too chuffed on the musical bits but not too bad.
