New Geico commercials - anybody watching them?

Yeah, I don’t mind the “does do [y]?” campaign. All the others can go to hell.

The one from the latest campaign that bugs me, though, is the “does a 10-pound bag of flour make a really big biscuit?” one, if just because it’s the least clever. If you had a big enough oven to make one in, then maybe you’d get a really big biscuit. More likely, though, you’d get a really big mess.

They beat MetLife by more than 50%, for me. 2100 every six months vs. 806 every six months. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but it sure is for me.

:dubious:

My experience is quite the opposite.

I’ve never seen the Waltons one anywhere but YouTube. I’ve see Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones once, and Elmer Fudd twice.

Charlie Daniels, I’ve seen a dozen or so times.

My favorite right now is the one with the gecko and the so-stupid-it’s-funny ringtone at the end. I hate the caveman ones, they’re lame as hell. The eyes don’t do it for me much either way, but I probably dislike them just a little more than I don’t care about them.

The “Does” guy commercials get old pretty quick, but if they ever make a movie about Rod Serling, he’d be great once he got the right speech patterns down.

Do they make the “head up the butt” commercial? We just saw that today and replayed it, but I have no idea who it was for.

They got old for me very quickly and I turn them off as soon as I see their spokesperson.

The caveman ads were funny. The gekko ads, and the pile of money ads, are unmemorable. I can’t stand the Charlie Daniels ad. Mostly because I can’t stand Charlie Daniels. He’s a shitty fiddle player (if you’ve ever seen him live, or seen unedited live video, you know he can barely play in tune. Intonation? He doesn’t know the meaning of the word), and has a nice side career as a wingnut bible-thumping purveyor of right-wing bullshit these days.

“Does a five pounf bag of flour make a really big biscuit?”

I positively adore these ads.I think of the dead pan guy as the antithesis to that annoying perky progressive insurance lady.

Really?!? I see the Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones ALL THE TIME and Elmer Fudd often. I haven’t seen the Charlie Daniels one for a while. I wonder if they play them at different frequencies in different markets/channels.

The Waltons one plays incessantly around here, to the point that I now lunge for the remote whenever the announcer guy shows up on screen.

Lethal Babydoll, I can’t get enough of those American Express commercials! The big ‘smiling’ boat is one of my favorites.

I don’t understand why the caveman walks away in the one where he is helping the hot blonde find her keys on the beach. Sure she had a Geiko keychain but she obviously was so easy even a caveman…

The latest are the greatest! from Abe Lincoln to the Little Piggy wee weein’ all the way home. the Bird in the Hand is a Treasure, check it out. i might never have insurance with GEICO’ but right now i’m lovin’ them commercials.

had it been a male, the caveman would still be there with him.

Is it wrong to think that Erin Esurance is hot?

The rhetorical parody of “Antiques Roadshow” was good.

That dead pan guy is supposed to be channeling Rod Serling.

I thought it was supposed to be Robert Stack?

Though I’m surprised my wife’s favorite hasn’t been mentioned yet:

Does a former drill sergeant make a terrible therapist?

Well, actually, I started a thread about the newest batch of commercials.
I haven’t seen the one with Randy Johnson on TV yet, just YouTube, but I think it’s pretty funny.

That one is new to me, and very, very funny.
