New Indiana Jones Trailer

I will watch it when it comes to Netflix.

It’s a Disney release, so I doubt it will be available on Netflix. Unless you’re referring to the DVD-by-mail service.

Oh well. Then i may not see it.

Is the Fleabag girl supposed to be Brody’s daughter? Or am I missing something? Did Brody ever shoot at Indy?

I think it’s a franchise meant for kids, so go ahead.

Well, it does have Mads Mikkelsen in it, so that’s a plus.

So did Clash of the Titans (2010), Polar, and Chaos Walking.

That opening shot of Indy asleep in the recliner, it must be a comfortable chair.

Right after he says he was shot by her father, they cut to a guy on top of the train accidentally firing a gun, it looks like the bullet ricochets off the roof and maybe grazes Indy (or at least his jacket) in the shoulder. So at the moment I’m assuming that guy is her father. The YouTube closed captions call him Basil.

Indy also says the dial drove her father crazy, so this is now the second movie in a row with a friend of Indy who is driven crazy looking for the titular lost artifact. Because it worked so well in the 4th movie, I guess.

I’m so amazed people willingly waste their moments on earth to piss on music/movies they don’t like and further, feel it necessary to share their disdain. I used to be that way. I’d shoot myself if my brain still worked like that.

Modnote: This is a pretty severe threadshit and you managed to pull off pretty much a forum-shit at the same time. Do not do this again.

I’ll go against the grain and say it looks good to me and I’ll be seeing it opening weekend. And I hated Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
I don’t have much of a problem with the age thing since we already have 50 something IronMan, James Bond, Wolverine and a 60 year old Ethan Hunt.
And if you haven’t seen Fleabag or Killing Eve (raises hand) I have no idea where you would have seen any of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s work. I’m not familiar with her.
Now if you want an upcoming sequel that you couldn’t pay me enough money to see watch the trailer for the next Transformers movie.

And Basil looks to be played by Toby Jones (Detectorists, diminutive Hydra scientist in MCU) who I always like. I think this trailer looks less dispiriting than the Crystal Skull; but then I was probably optimistic about that film before it came out (I couldn’t even make it to the end of that crock).

Odd numbered Indy films have Nazis™ so it’s bound to be good. But then, are these just flashback Nazis™ ?

I still maintain that Crystal Skull would have been saved if only they’d had fugitive Nazis™ escaped to South America instead of communists.

If Cate Blanchett couldn’t make that film watchable, nothing could.

The one and only time I recall her being bad in a film. It was like she read the final script, realized she couldn’t get out of it and said “F’ it, I’ll just channel Natasha and look for Moose”.

To me, the trailer doesn’t look bad (Sympathy for the Devil notwithstanding).

Still don’t know if I’ll watch it. How many sucky films is a franchise allowed before you just give up? Star Trek taught me it is at least fewer than 9.

50something and 60 are still rather short of 80, though.

Hey, I just (as in 30 sec. ago) mentioned Chaos Walking in the YA fiction thread! Excellent movie, even better trilogy of books.

Out-of-control telepathy, and Daisy Ridley as an alien, and it’s still more believable than Ancient Indy.
