New ISP

I’m looking into Netzero as an ISP.Currrently on MSN,no problems (well one, which neccessitated a 1/2 hour call with techs to get a new setup a couple months ago.)

NO busy signals, but I see netzero lists many more phone numbers in my locale than MSN.

I have a couple questions.

One,anybody using it now have any positive or negative feedback? Also what’s with the 5x faster web page loading for another $5 a month? Is it worth the extra money?

I normally use it just for surfing webpages so it seems it would be good for me.I don’t care about faster downloads, one of the things it doesn’t support.

For instance on this site there are times when loading these pages take impossibly long times, would that feature help?

Another thing,I have a couple accounts (bank among others) on my pc that are tied to my msn mailbox. How do I rectify that if I change? Go to every site I have an account and inform them?

I have a yahoo mailbox so most sites requiring a register (like this one),I just use that one.Maybe a good idea to transfer all my saved sign ins to yahoo?

I had them once. They were my first ISP. They. Suck. Ass.

The so-called 5x high-speed is simply loading cached pages, so often you’ll miss new content unless you specifically force a reload. It’s not worth the extra money.

Die NetZero, die!

What,specifically ** Q.E.D. ** were your complaints?Busy signals,numerous disconnects,etc.

I notice from your registration in 9 mos.you’ve managed to post about 700+posts a month.I don’t come anywhere close to that in sheer volume of interaction.Might my smaller use of the service have an effect on the performance of the service?

Anybody alse have favorable opinions of other $9.95 mo.services?

I’m trying to figure out why I should pay double to have a nationally branded ISP.

Specifically, I was having about 10-20 disconnects per day, they limit you to 40 hours per month for the freebie version, and some unspecified amount of transfer for the $9.99 and $19.99 versions and a lot of busy signals with my local access numbers. Admiteddly, I was online a lot, but eventually they declined to keep me asw a customer, so I went to AOL. They suck too, but at least with them, unlimited access pretty much means unlimited, unless you’re downloading hundreds of full-length feature films every month. The best bang for the buck I got with Verizon DSL, at $34.95 per month, unlimited access and speeds up to 768 kbps.

I always recommend Earthlink. I have used them all over the nation and I have been VERY pleased with their service.

I have Verizon DSL here too. Best damn DSL I have ever had.
