New Kitty! (Wanna suggest names?)

Me either. I’m tech daft and on iOS so who knows?!

Is the kitty vocal? “Mittens” in Hatian Creole is “mouf”.

I’m usually at least reasonably competent, do have a Google Drive account of my own, lack permissions for those pictures.

Nope, my bad. Have to fire up the laptop to fix - try these:

seannette

I left out that I have a google account also (set up by my darling son when he set up everything else🤭) but it kept requesting access. It lost me there.

Use really little words if you try or explain it to me otherwise I won’t understand. Yes, I’m that daft.

purplehorseshoe

He is a gorgeous kitty. I would have brought him home too.

He deserves a very special name. Dignified and reflecting his beauty.

My housemate was consulted-she calls that chocolate tabby. She says she would have brought him home also.

Boo

ISWYDT :sniff:

The Irish for thumb is “ordóg” which would be a cute name for a kittty. I’m pretty sure the word for mittens is “mittens.” LOL!

For black-haired heroes, one always adds the descriptor “dubh” (doov) after the name. For brown haired ones, it’s “donn.” (dohn)

“Extra thumbs” would be ordóga breise

But to be honest, something about his carriage reminds me of Sugar Ray Leonard. Sugar Ray Leopard?

Oh, he’s handsome.

Pooka

Look at that face–I suspect your kitteh has a Burmese in his woodpile and quite recently too. That’s a very Siamesey nose he’s sporting.

Here are some good Womble names:

Orinoco
Tomsk
Bungo
Wellington
Tobermory

It is a very Siamese looking head.

My breeder names all her kittens ‘other’ animal names.
Like ‘Mouse’ or ‘Monkey’ or my favorite ‘Bear’

So here’s my list:
Birdy
Fish or Fisher
Wolf
Weasle

Ears!

And long legs. Though he may grow into both of them.

Hemingway Tenebrium. Hemingway for the author\s plethora of poly cats in Key West. Tenebrium for the dark.

Congrats to you @purplehorseshoe ! Glad you’re settling in!

I think you have something here, both the head shape, the fur colors and striping, the ear shape and regal posture. Here’s what Wiki says about Burmese kitties:

Temperament

Burmese are a notably people-oriented breed, maintaining their kitten-like energy and playfulness into adulthood. They are also said to have a number of overtly puppy-like characteristics, forming strong bonds with their owners and gravitating toward human activity. The cats often learn to play games such as ‘fetch’ and ‘tag’. Veterinarian Joan O. Joshua has written that the “dog-like attachment to the owners” of the Burmese, as with the similarly behaving Abyssinians, causes “greater dependence on human contacts”. This stands in contrast to the mere “tolerant acceptance of human company” based around “comforts” that multiple other breeds display.

They are persistently vocal, in a manner reminiscent of their Siamese ancestry. Yet they have softer, sweeter voices. Burmese are not as independent as other breeds and are not suited to being left alone for extended periods of time.

Wiki seems to call that color ‘sable’.

Sounds like a good match for phs-that nice temperament type and bonding with it’s human.

Corndog.

Yeah, I thought Burmese when I saw him. Gorgeous boy!

Congrats on your new master. :cat:

Old Sport.

The great thing about cats is you can have multiple names for them, since they specialize in ignoring all of them. My cat officially named “Dmitri” is also known as:

Didi
Smoke Demon
Siberian Rat

…and you will be pleased to know I have just added “House Panther” to his list of nicknames :grinning:

“Old Sport”! Shit. Dumb-ass, that’s Fitzgerald, not Hemingway!
