And he’s very very extra-special very cute. Of course! Is there ever a kitten who isn’t just so cute you want to pick it up and snuggle it and go “AWWWWWWWWWWWW…”?
Anyway, I brought him home from the shelter a week ago, and in that short time he’s won over the elder eight already inhabiting the place. The younger ones play with him; the older ones tolerate his presence. He’s a total lovebug, wants to sleep on my head, adores ramming his tiny wet nose into my face and batting it with his huge little paws. Huge little paws, for sure – he’s got double thumbs! I’ve always wanted a double-pawed cat, and now I’ve got one.
Pictures, you say? Well, here ya go:
Did I mention I adore classic marble tabby markings?

Testing the limits of Freddy’s tolerance
So: He’s bright, sweet, loving, snuggly, energetic, playful, curious, nearly fearless, and a quick learner. He’s going to be wicked handsome when he grows up. His front paws are going to be HUGE, and he’s already learned to be soft and gentle with them when batting his human in the face.
Provisionally I’m calling him “Thumb-boy”, and had considered “Thumbo” (he’s at the stage where his ears have outgrown his face) but that’s not really grabbing me. “Bigfoot Thumboy” is under review, but I have a feeling he’s going to have a completely different name – he just hasn’t told me yet what it will be.
Any suggestions will be gratefully tossed into the hat.
Oh, in case it would help, the current roster aside from the new guy is, from oldest to youngest: Sophie (black DLH female), Eddy, Teddy, and Freddy (orange DSH brothers), Pumpkin and Squash (cream tabby DSH brothers), Sally (black DSH female), and Peanut (cream tabby DSH male).
