New - Latest

I have a feeling this might be a stupid question, but I’ve been trying to figure it out and I’m coming up snake eyes. What is the difference between New Posts and Latest Posts?

They"re the same thing. “New” is new topics(threads)

If you hover on “new” it says “topics created in the last few days.” If you hover on “latest” it says “topics with recent posts.”

Thanks. See, I told you it was a stupid question; I didn’t even notice the rollover. But while I’m being ignorant … is there a way to automatically bookmark threads in which you post, like the old auto-subscribe. That’s pretty much how I’m using the bookmarks, but I keep forgetting to manually do it.

Duuuuhyaaaa, tanks in advance

Profile>Preferences>Notifications>When I post in a topic, set that topic to (dropdown menu)

It doesn’t bookmark but you get the little numbered circle on the thread when there’s new posts.

No, they most certainly are not.

Latest the most recently created or responded to posts. New is only the most recent new OPs.

I thought JB was referring to “New posts” from the old board as compared to “Latest” here.

For some reason, when I’m looking at the home page, the first post in the Latest list is the GD rules sticky, even though it hasn’t had any activity since January 1st. All the others in the list are new, but that one’s always at the top.

That one is “Pinned Globally” which is probably just a weird artifact of the migration. You can manually unpin it yourself at the bottom of the topic page.

Cool, thanks. Unpinning all the forum stickies really declutters things too.
