Congrats! What an adorable little puppy! I vote Twister or Vortex because of that “twisty” little tail she has!
So cute!! Tempest!
:smack: I should have guessed that. I’m not a big fan of musicals, so all of my Oklahoma! knowledge comes from secondary sources.
Alas, despite the many excellent suggestions here and the connection with the storm, the pup ended up with the name Mica, because her coat changes from black to silver to gray to white depending on the viewing angle. I’m still reserving Pupnado for her “teenage” phase, though.
Haboob (a dust storm, but what the hell)
Tormenta (Spanish for storm).
Hee! My neighbors already think I’m some sort of creepy serial killer lady. I’d like to see their faces when they hear me yelling, “Haboob! HABOOB! You get back here!”
Look what the wind blew in!
Man, she looks like a little handful! Is she a rescue?
I had the same general idea but I suggest Ororo, the real name of the X-Men character.
She’s beautiful! Congrats!
Yes, the mother and pups were among the rescue dogs that ended up in Minnesota after the storm. Oh, and she is a handful. The first thing she did this morning was sink those wicked puppy teeth into my big toe and clamp on. I had to pry her off as if she were a lobster.
I think Mica is a terrific name and further: she is one damned beautiful puppy! I hope her toe-biting is just a phase and y’all can enjoy each other’s less-toothsome company for many years!
Sorry, that’s the wrong name for her. She might be Glinda, or she might be Mercury, though.
Congratulations and thank you for taking her. I hope she brings many happy years to your family.

How about Toby? That was Helen Hunt’s dog in Twister.
Very cute little girl. I am not very creative when it comes to pet names but Mica does have a nice ring to it.
I am please to see that a dog photo has been posted. There seemed to be an overabundance of kitten pictures posted here.
No such thing as an overabundance of kitty pictures :D.
Dogs are of course equally good to admire.
I am open to viewing dog pictures, and bird pics as well.
We did consider Mercury but she’s not smooth enough for that. She glints, so Mica fits her. As for Glinda, I’d have to say “Toto too” to her all the time, and that would get old :D.
Mica’s an adorable name!
That is a Stormy if I’ve ever seen one. She looks like trouble!
Its the SDMB, so I have to say… Bacon Salt.
Ok, but remember, if you call her, Every Other Dog in the Dog park is going to come also…
