This is our new pup, who arrived just yesterday. She’s a survivor of the Moore, OK, tornado, which occurred when she was less than a week old. We’re still working on a name, maybe something weather-related?
Breed is indeterminate and the mother was reported by somebody in Moore to be a “lab-looking dog.” Since her two litter mates looked a bit like border collies, she was listed as a border collie-lab mix, but her coloring makes me think there’s an Aussie involved somewhere. The curly tail is confusing the issue, though.
Only dog I’ve ever had whose eyes reflect blue in photos, so I’m wondering if that’s because she’s still so young. Her actual eye color is still that muddy green-brown puppies have.
Whee! Having only 2 dogs (after losing 2 in the last year) felt really weird. This’ll probably be our last dog raised from a pup, so I’m going to relish every second of it.
Oh my goodness! I’m squeeing all over the place and my dog and husband are looking at me funny. I’m thinking with that tail, nonacetone nailed it - Twister.
We’ve decided against Dorothy, since both of us had unpleasant relatives with that name, and Toto (always a Cairn terrier to me). We’re still considering Twister, Storm (or Stormy), Zephyr, and Dervish. I suppose we could add Vortex to the list.
Snowboarder Bo, I don’t get the Surrey connection. All it brings to mind for me is “with a fringe on top.”
I absolutely love Pupnado, but so far her personality is so mellow that I’d have to justify it all the time. Maybe I’ll just call her that when she gets in trouble :).
She’s super cute! By the way, border collies are not necessarily that black/white kind that are usually thought of. They come in several other colors, one of which is “blue merle”… rather like your little pup.
She’s precious! I was just going through the thread wanting to suggest Storm or Stormy, and others beat me to it. With her colouring she does look like a grey and black storm.
