My g/f and I saw a trailer for a film that looks like fun, but neither of us remembers what it’s called. There’s this guy, see, who lives in a fantasy world. A lot of the trailer shows him making things out of cardboard and tape, and there are surreal scenes of him living in his creations (or something like that). He falls in love with the girl in the apartment next door, who has long brown hair and seems to have some sort of an accent.
Any idea what this is?

I just saw a trailer for The Science of Sleep, before seeing Factotum at the arthouse the other night. It is directed by Michael Gondry, who has made some of the most brilliant music videos ever and one of my favorite movies of all time, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I’m looking forward to it.
For you maybe, you lucky sod. The rest of the country has to wait. Usually “limited release” means LA and NY, sometimes, if I’m lucky, Chicago. This time it only meant LA and NY.
I’m there opening day, whenever it appears here. The combination of Michel Gondry and Gael García Bernal makes me drool. Plus, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my all-time favorite films.
