New Safari User Question ('tabs')

I’ve just made the big switch and got a Mac to replace my aging PC. I’ve been using Safari since then and am generally happy with the way it works.

One annoyance, though, is that I can’t figure out how to get new tabs to open to my home page. No matter what I do, it seems that tabs will open only as a blank page.

Does anyone know how to get it so that tabs will open to my home page?

Thanks!

This isn’t exactly it, but my quickie solution.

Save your home page in the bookmark bar. Then apple clicking the entry in your bookmark will open that page in a new tab. Possibly this has to be enabled in Safari preferences…tab…make sure the ‘apple click opens link in new tab’ option is marked.

Sorry for the double post. You can put a home icon in your toolbar via the customize toolbar option. Then apple clicking that icon opens your home page in a separate tab if the option is enabled in the preferences.
This is better if you don’t like the bookmarks bar

That’s just brilliant!! It works perfectly and is equivalent to having a new tab open into my home page.

Many thanks!
