New SDMB Cooperative Total War Game

Yeah, the last sentence or so gives you the reason.

So, hello, Ying. I’m Yang. Pleased to meet you.

I think I’ve built one tower, just to see how to do it. Since that, I spent my time kicking ass and getting more land.

Any updates, appleciders?

I evidently got skipped, but that’s okay because I didnt have 1.03 installed yet, but now I do, so I can jump back in the schedule … how bout putting me after appleciders?

Sounds good to me, the play order has mutated a fair bit anyway.

Didn’t realize I was right there on the list- will get started right away.

Excellent.

World domination is going as planned.

I’m going to be pissed when I have to kill the Timurids and Aztecs, aren’t I?

Still haven’t received a save file. Anyone have any ideas? Did it get sent?

Hmm, thought Kinthalis forwarded it. Mind sending it to the ciderman again, K-dawg?

Alright! I have officially received the file. I’ll see if I can’t finish it off in the next two days. Who’s on deck?

Everything’s going smoothly. Frankfurt, Zaragoza, Valencia, Venice, and Stockholm have fallen or been purchased in the six or seven turns I’ve played. Trying to prepare an army to take Antioch, but Egypt has a couple of full stacks in the way. We’ll see if I can catch them on a bridge defense and do this elegantly. Likewise preparing a big army to move south on Constantinople, and I’m quite hopeful about taking it.

Funnily enough, I got Zaragoza in a bargain deal for Caffa and Trebizond, then negotiated peace with Portugal in exchange for getting Caffa and Trebizond right back, with Caernavon in the bargain. Funny series of events.

Other than that, I’m working to improve the economy, get a serious merchant corps going, convert a few extraneous castles to profit-producing cities, and keep the Pope happy. The latest Pope was from our Sicilian allies and thinks highly of Poland, and with four Cardinals and good friends in the Vatican, England, and Spain, we ought to secure the next election if it happens soon.

Sweet.

…Wait, you traded away territory?? Have you gone mad!!!

Yeah, well, the game gave me a mission to trade for it and I decided one good city near my forces was worth two that I really couldn’t defend elsewhere. Besides, I took them right back at the bargaining table the next turn.

With King Zbignew gone senile and prone to trying to ambush the Byzantines outside Thessalonica, the council of nobles has decided to appoint a regent until his death. Zbignew took comparatively few in his tenure, but his drive for the exotic ensured that they were critical ones; Zaragoza, Venice, Milan, Bologna, Frankfurt, Constantinople, Nicea, Antioch, and Aleppo. Cash flow is a little smoother, Polish merchants have cleared the silk markets around Constantinople and are turning a tidy profit doing so, and the Pope, formerly of Poland, adores Poland and has appointed a majority of Polish priests to the College of Cardinals in recent years.

The longest Crusade in history recently finished, having taken more than fifty years for the Imperial and Danish armies to march from Europe to Jerusalem. Zbignew felt that had he been involved, the entire process could have been cut much shorter.

LOUNE, I think you’re next on the list. I’ll send it on.

Hey, is it too late to join?

I have the save file in my inbox. Alessan, wanna take your hand on killing another one for us?

I kid, of course.

Take my slot in the rotation; I’m off to school and won’t have time to play.

Capital! Thought this had died on the vine. Nice job appleciders.

I had the file and sent it to Alessan. If **Alessan **doesn’t report to the thread in a couple days, I’ll dig the file out of the trash and send it to…well…I guess me.

Look… this is embarrassing, but some work has come up recently, and I won’t have the time to invest in a TW game, especially as it will take me a couple of hours just to make heads and tails of the game’s geopolitical situation and make the neccessary adjustments. So thanks for including me, but you’d best send the file on to someone else.

(I’d feel worse about it if I weren’t so happy to have all that work to do. It’s been a dry few months)

No worries, fella. Let us know if you’re available soon. I’ll fire up the save file and get it going.

Okay, change of plans. I’m taking over the save file. Whoever wants it next, post here and you’ll get it when I’m done.
