Whooo-hoooo! I bought my second pair of new spring shoes (a pair of four inch high, snake-skin open toe, platform Charles Jordan sling-backs) last night at DSW and I’m still thrilled. What is it about a new pair of killer heels that is so happy-making?
Am I the only one? Truth is, I don’t even walk that well in them, it’s just that they are so darned pretty and I feel so darned girlie in them. My husband just shrugs and lets me hold onto his arm so I don’t fall down in the street while wearing them, but my girlfriends are all about seeing them. He wonders why I don’t opt for something more sensible…ah, but he’d love me in a gunny sack. (I’m a lucky woman!)
Women do dress for each other, don’t we? Same goes with perfume and lipstick I’m afraid…
I only wish I could wear pretty heels again. I used to wear them all the time; but age and nerve damage in my foot has pretty much put a permanent end to it.
We need pics! If I can’t wear them myself, at least I can envy those of you who can and drool over your shoes!
The brand name is Naughty Monkey, which cracked me up. They have a lot of very colorful designs.
They go very well with a dress I bought awhile back. But yeah, I rarely have a reason to wear heels anymore, so it feels a bit wobbly for awhile. Turned out the restaurant we had reservations with on our Big Night Out had a gravel driveway too, just for an extra challenge.
I refuse to wear heels more than once in a blue moon as they cause me tremendous amounts of pain and discomfort, but I do love getting new flats for spring! Especially cute sandals and such. Ah, shoes!
Afraid I cannot join in with the love for high heels, but may the rest of you enjoy them muchly, but I do think it fun that a poster whose name includes Squeaker should happen to post about brand new shoes.
Perhaps I should clarify - the association might have more to do with memories of new-term little school shoes, all squeaky leather until “worn-in”, than with pretty spring shoes, but new shoes and “squeaky” still go together in my head.
Ha! Nope…Squeaker Snow was the name of a long-gone, but much loved black-eared, ruby-eyed psuedo-albino Teddy Bear hamster.
AND! I’m such a goof…they’re Charles David shoes! No wonder my husband was so curious as the why I kept calling them Charles Jordan. Duh!!! But they are no less fabulous!!!
I would post photos, but don’t know how! Can someone help?
I’m disappointed. I was hoping for a post about shoes containing large springs. I have a pair of moon shoes- essentially minitrampolines you strap on your feet and enjoy them immensely.
