New strategy of Trumpers?

A Facebook friend posted the block quoted part . I wonder if this is the future: post 100 lies instead of 1 lie, and people won’t even try to reply one by one. But if you don’t disagree with them, they think they must be right. And you gotta love the “Copied and pasted” bit at the end—is that her way of saying “Hey, I just copied it: I don’t take responsibility for accuracy.” She probably didn’t research or fact check any of it. (Note: I had to remove a couple of emojis or Discourse wouldn’t post it).

A family member of mine was always posting Trump stuff that you knew couldn’t be true. I wandered over to look at his page because gee he’s been quiet since the election. I saw that a bunch of his posts were flagged by FB, saying they were misleading or something.

Surely this laundry list can’t pass inspection with them…

Here’s to the measly $2000 stimulus money you Biden voters wanted and look at all the other wonderful thing’s and it’s just the beginning…

“2pm yesterday marked Biden’s 50th hour in office. How are all of my liberal friends feeling?

Let’s take a look at the Biden/Harris administration –

  • A loss of 57,000 jobs in oil.

  • Ended energy independence for the United States.

  • Canada and Texas are suing Biden.

  • Antifa (just an idea right), continue to riot and burn down Portland and Seattle.

  • Sent our troops that were in DC to sleep on the floor of a parking garage, in freezing temps, with cars parked there ![emoji removed] and one bathroom. But the WH made them cookies ![emoji removed]

  • Created a new glass ceiling for girls to hurdle, ruining so many chances for scholarships with his “progressive” transgender programs allowing boys to compete against girls.

  • Created a new federal property mask mandate, which he broke countless times already.

  • Is now allowing illegal immigrants to be counted for representation in congress.

  • A complete halt on student loan forgiveness that he promised.

  • A complete halt on the $2000 stimulus program he promised.

  • He shot down a Trump admin order to lower the cost of insulin.

  • He shot down a Trump admin order to lower the cost of epinephrine.

  • Rescinds Trump order banning Chinese Communist involvement in US power grid

  • $1.6 billion in gross wages lost.

And JUST TODAY - 8 Chinese bombers, 4 fighters, and 1 sub-hunter just breached Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone, crossing the Taiwan Strait

Everything they’ve done in THREE DAYS has benefitted other countries and hurt Americans.

But HEY, at least Biden hasn’t tweeted mean words. And, we have a woman Vice President.”

Copied and pasted

With any U.S. presidency, there are always thousands of things going on. It’s easy to cherry-pick a long list of praises or grievances for any, based off of your personal leanings - Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden or whoever.

As for the Taiwan example, though, that one is meaningless. China has been doing military flyovers near Taiwan for nearly a year now, long pre-dating the Biden presidency. They might as well blame Trump.

The troops sleeping in parking garages were there for the inauguration. (i.e., before Biden was President)

I’d be very surprised if the oil industry lost 58,000 jobs in three days.

I can’t speak for Portland, but no one has burned down Seattle this week. ( I just checked the Seattle Times, in case I missed something. No, all quiet)

I don’t know about everything else claimed, but I assume it’s all bullshit.

Somebody’s been reading the New York Post.

True. But how about checking facts? Maybe for the first one, at least. 57,000 is a lot of jobs.

IF YOUR TIME IS SHORT

  • On his first day in office, President Joe Biden signed an executive order revoking the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, halting its construction in the U.S.
  • TC Energy Corp. said it will lay off “thousands” of union workers because of the order. The company’s president said the layoffs would number more than 1,000.
  • TC Energy estimated in October that the pipeline would employ 11,000 Americans in 2021, generating more than $1.6 billion in wages.
  • The pipeline provided far fewer permanent jobs.

They can’t justify 11,000 so where is the 57,000 coming from? And no mention of the fact that they’re not permanent jobs.

Hey, if I click “Report” on that post will they fact check it?

No fair!! You didn’t complain when Obama said there were 57 states, so you can’t complain if they can’t back up 57,000 lost jobs!!

FTR, someone beat me to it. I looked at her post again and it said “Partly false information.”

Maybe this is how we get past this as a nation, stopping all the BS? When people post stuff like that, we can flag it.

I read something today that said sure, they went after Parler, but those folks will pop up elsewhere. Ugh!

Since Trump supporters never fool anyone but themselves, I don’t see the benefit of them pushing multiple lies at a time. One lie at a time was all it ever took for them to fool each other. They’re wasting their money.

  1. Not true.

“Obamaphones” indeed!

Actually true. Always was true. Was true for the last umpteen presidents and not new. The Census counts the “number of whole persons”, not citizens.

Whenever I see this, I get a Raffi earworm in my head;

Ding-a-ling-ling-ling-ling-ling-ling-ling!

Boo-ba-doo-ba-doop!
Boo-ba-doo-ba-doop!

Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring
Obamaphone!
Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring
Obamaphone!
I’ve got this feeling, so appealing
For us to get together and sing, sing!

Not sure if the 57,000 jobs lost in oil was related , or more likely completly made up based on inspiration from the freeze on issuing new drilling permits on federal land and federal offshore waters.
Most land based large operators have a healthy stack of drilling permits already and if they run out will move to non federal land. It’s likely to only affect the smaller operators who may only have federal land leases.
Offshore deepwater it’s a similar story , they have permits ( and those wells take 3- 9 months to drill) laid out for a while , may not have BSEE approval on the specific plans but that’s another story and wouldn’t impact future activity . My opinion is the 60 say freeze is having no effect on drilling and fracking activity right now. We can see what the rig count and frac fleet utilisation numbers will look like next week but 57000 jobs because of that smells like BS. My WAG would be the freeze is more likely to be able to check what swamp like applications were being rushed though at the last minute because a freeze on federal permits won’t impact the environment, if the demand for hydrocarbons is there the source will just move , but that’s a different conversation.

I suspect it’s more of a

I can only assume Antifa rioted and burned your computer…

That last unfinished sentence was the product of an unfinished thought crossed with a limited brain.

For as much as Trumpers love to shit on the PNW, you’d think they’d be happy about Portland and Seattle being “burned down”.

In any event, from what I’ve seen, the people smashing windows the other night were Revolutionary Communist Party, not Antifa or BLM.

Circulating long lists of claims that bear only a tenuous connection to reality is hardly a “new strategy of Trumpers”; indeed, it’s been their main strategy for years.

The National Guard were sent to the parking garage by the Capital Police, not the White House; once Congress heard about it (which was relatively quickly) they (members of both parties including Chuck Schumer) demanded other arrangements to be made and the guards were back in the Capitol the same night.

But Dr Biden did bring them cookies after they had been relocated back to the Capitol.

Posted on a FB friend’s feed:
Day 2 Biden (Morning Edition):

-Over 50K jobs lost
-Broke his own mask mandate and the reason? “He was celebrating”.
-Mistreated National Guard troops to sleep on the floor of a parking garage

  • Didn’t salute Marines
  • Ruined women’s and girls sports
  • Has Canada pissed off and ready to sue the US due to his cancelation of the pipeline
-Hasn’t said one word or made one action regarding the insurrection occurring on the West Coast
-Sent a huge military convoy to Syria
-President Trump offered his 5-star DC hotel, free of charge, to any National Guard that need a place to sleep.

Like really? What 50,000 jobs lost? Generous rounding on Keystone?
He took off his mask to address the socially distant people at the Lincoln Memorial. Whoop-de-fucking-doo.
He didn’t tell the NG to sleep in the parking garage.
Historically presidents do not return salutes of military personnel
So a handful of trans m to f will play women’s sports. BFD.
So the Canadians find it more difficult to sell their dirty oil. Boo-fucking-hoo.
What insurrection? Is it even 1/1000th of 1% the size of Donald’s Capitol mob?
The Syrian convoy was a routine supply run.
I’d be surprised if Donald actually made that offer and if so, it’s the least he could do considering the damage his mob did that made the NG deployment necessary.

It’s not required under military protocol, since a president will never be in military uniform. So it should not be seen as disrespect. However, nothing prohibits it either, and Reagan was known for it.

True enough that nothing prohibits it. I personally believe that presidents saluting undermines the concept of civilian control of the military. The president is not in the military and should not return salutes. I think it’s nuts to condemn a president for not saluting when the historic norm has been not to.
