Their new deal with Cartoon Network kicked off on Monday and added all kinds of great content: Powerpuff Girls, JLA, Childrens Hospital, Dexter’s Lab, Delocated, etc
That is an awesome site, I just added a few titles to my queue. I’ve heard that netflix’s method of recommending movies is based in part on how cheap the licensing fees are for movies, so the cheapest ones are the ones that get recommended. So I end up seeing the same damn few hundred movies over and over and over as the options, and don’t know movies like these are on netflix. So thanks
They made a deal with Disney recently to stream their back catalog.
My favorite new old movie to make it onto Netflix is The Castle, a 1997 Australian indie film that is nearly as quotable as The Princess Bride. Distribution rights owned by Miramax in the US, which is a Disney subsidiary.
Watched it with the whole family, then again with just my daughter just a couple of days later. Never gets old for me. “It’s the vibe of the thing.”
This makes me happy because I was just thinking that I would like to rewatch Justice League Unlimited but did not have it on DVD. I literally checked Sunday to see if it was on Netflix and it wasn’t. Maybe I’m psychic
ETA: If you wish to watch the original Batman and Superman cartoons from the 90s, they air daily on a channel called The Hub that you probably have on your cable but never noticed.
Since you bring up this site, any advice on getting it to show you a limited range of years? Typing them into the boxes just gets me that “don’t do that!” noise. Trying to drag the bar does little, because it reloads a second after touching it, and I’ve succeeded only in getting it to move to 1907. Clicking the bar in the aproximately right time also does nothing.
That should show you movies from 1906 to 1920. Even if dragging the bar doesn’t work I was able to click on the year, erase what’s there, type a new one, and press Tab to leave the blank, that caused the search to refresh.
