New Terminator trailer

CGI in movie trailers is usually unfinished, especially 6 months out.

I didn’t like the most recent movie all that much, and the franchise has been pretty uneven, but I’ll see it.

Yeah, I’d wait for the right judgment… day.

I thought the first movie was great. There was a lot in it besides car chases – the whole time travel premise, the scenes of the dystopian future, the development of Sarah from a ditzy party girl to a serious fighter, Arnold’s characterization (a role that was made for him, as it just required him to act woodenly, which is his forte). The second movie, yeah, pretty much a long car chase and I didn’t care for it. I haven’t seen any of the others.

Well, personally I don’t have the time to watch every one of the hundreds of movies that come out every year. I do sometimes have to pass judgement based on the trailer or reviews. I’d be very surprised if you didn’t do the same.

She wasn’t a ditzy party girl. She was a meek, overworked waitress.

Well, I had. Can’t recall anything about the 3rd one. Walked out of Terminator: Christian Bale…(can’t even remember the name)(how do you make a boring Terminator movie?).

Until I saw the trailer. Linda Hamilton being badass? I’ll be there.

I saw that Sigourney Weaver cast on Iron Fist, I was excited to see it. However that excitement turned to disappointment the first scene I saw her “kick ass”. She threw a punch, and it barely looked like it could punch through a wet paper bag.

I hope the same is not true for Mrs. Hamilton.

When I go back and watch Linda Hamilton and how tough and in shape she was in Terminator 2, I always think she could have played Lara Croft in Tomb Raider if that franchise had been around earlier.

I think it’s a smart move to ignore the movies after T2. It eliminates a lot of baggage and Cameron can continue the story as he always planned.

She was also one of the stars in Halt and Catch Fire.

Also a sex worker in Blade Runner 2049.

Aye.

I am severely allergic to gratuitous special effects. Couldn’t get through the trailer.

But what I think is cinematic tripe will likely make a ton of money. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

It doesn’t bother me that Endgame type movies are so successful. It bothers me that they’ve replaced the previous writing, acting, and directing skills with formula CG filler.

That’s what I read somewhere- he’s supposed to be the man who was the donor of the organic material for the original models of the Terminators. Since I really like T1 and T2, I’ll probably see this, but I don’t see the point of this sequel- T2 was a satisfying conclusion to the first two films. The various shots of the black terminator morphing look cheap and incomplete, not nearly as “real” looking as T2. I also found it tedious to watch the teaser, and expect to be disappointed.

I’ll totally watch it. I love the Terminator movies (even the bad ones). A TV edit of the original Terminator was one of the first R-rated movies I got to watch as a kid, so it has a special place in my heart.

Everything I’ve seen Mackenzie Davis in has been excellent. I’m looking forward to the return of badass Linda Hamilton.

I also don’t care if the movies retain continuity, as long as they’re vaguely self-consistent. Skynet is a causal loop object without origin and the movies are about messing with different timelines.
