New things you notice in Seinfeld

Dave Letterman
Pat Cooper

And. . . uh. . . Salm(o)n Rushdie! :stuck_out_tongue:

Raquel Welch

Heh. JERRY SEINFELD.

I guess that was pre-hair plugs.

And isn’t that Lance Henrikson as TV - Kramer?

I can’t believe we’re on page two of naming people who were on the show before they were stars and no one has mentioned Courteney Cox.

IIRC, she’s the woman who claims she’s Jerry’s wife to get the discount on dry cleaning.

[Nitpick]By the time she was on “Seinfeld”, Courteney Cox had already done “Family Ties” and the first Ace Ventura movie so it wasn’t like she was an unknown.[/Nitpick]

And don’t forget the Dancing in the Dark video!

Jay Leno played himself on the ep where Jerry does a bit about Uncle Leo seeing everything as anti-Semitic. And Corbin Bernsen and George Wendt played themselves receiving show ideas from George backstage on Leno? Letterman?

Rudy Giuliani played himself. Fat-free frozen yogurt ep.

Geraldo Rivera reported on Seinfeld’s trial in the last episode

Monk’s (where everybody seems to eat) : do people run tabs, or to you pay the waitress? (unless you are Kraemer, of course). Anyway, the Chinese restaurant (where they waif forever, and leave-jut before thier table is announced)-what street is it on?

There’s a cash register next to the front door, across from the table where everyone usually eats. There was even an episode where George thought he’d been shorted when getting change (side thought: was it the one with the marked bill?) and got into it with the cashier. There was also an episode where Kramer dated a different cashier because she had really long fingernails and could scratch his back well.

Wow, I know way too much about this show.

Jayrot, this might be closer to the OP-- most things I’ve noticed in recent years fall along the lines of items on Jerry’s refrigerator or in the cast members’ apartments. For instance, there’s an “EWR” on Jerry’s refrigerator that always stood out for me for some reason, and I wish I knew if it was something signifigant* or just a random addition some set designer threw up there.

In Elaine’s apartment, I’ve spotted several times on her bookshelf a first edition of Donald E. Westlake’s comic novel Bank Shot.
*Can you tell I watch Lost?

You think that’s bad, all my anecdotes seem to involve not real-life events, but things that happened on Seinfeld or The Simpsons.

EWR is the airport code for Newark. I assumed this was supposed to be some kind of reciept or claim check or parking voucher for his next or last trip to do a show.

Whoa. Thanks, aktep! Mundane as the explanation is, count my curiosity slaked.

I notice now that Kramer is always right on the verge of calling blacks on the show “niggers” when he gets frustrated.

I know, I always have to stop myself from “That’s like that Seinfeld where…”

I’ve noticed that Elaine has a nice selection of quilts, and wears flannel nightgowns to bed. Seems a little too country for her character!

Good one.
I’ve noticed these last few times around that Kramer’s finances aren’t really as mysterious as I once assumed them to be. Yeah he doesn’t work, but he does seem to fall ass-backwards into money quite consistently. He wins a 30-1 bet (on $600) on a horse; he gets a (presumably) lucrative, however short-lived, modeling contract with Calvin Klein; police decoy lineup work; book publishing deal; etc.

Yeah, the other characters do notice this from time to time, but the first few times through I always just assumed his finances were somewhat of a plot hole.

I think they do remain a mystery, though, and he is considered independently wealthy. A one-bedroom on the Upper West Side during the 90s? And I think he has a car since he did the stop-and-grab with Mrs. Costanza and I think he drove to Susan’s cabin upstate.

He does get his food and cable free, though.
