I quickly learned new threads that I haven’t read are in bright blue. Threads I’ve read are in a duller blue.
But, if I close Firefox. Then, go back to Straight Dope all the threads are bright blue. I have to remember what I’ve already read.

And the ways of Firefox are myriad strange sometimes, so I can’t even speculate on what’s going on here.
I’m sorry you’re having difficulties.
Under Firefox>Tools>Options>Privacy-there is an option to clear the history when closing Firefox, uncheck it.
Browser issue. I use Firefox, too. You have the “History” set too short. Tools > Options > Privacy. History setting is at the top of that menu. If that doesn’t work, get back to me and I will try something else.

I have found that when I switch between wifi adapters, the same thing happens, but it only happens on this board. All other vBulletin boards keep the history even if I switch between Charter and Verizon as my ISP AND also switch my adapter.
