Will my settings be retained from the current version if I do that?
As far as I know, they will. I had no problem when I back-versioned to 27. You can still go to settings and reconfigure anything that needs to be. Most of the safe download sites offer the prior several versions, it’s apparently quite common for users to want to do that.
