See it here:
Well, it still looks quite good. The dialogue is hard to gauge until you see it in the actual film.
I think this will be better than I ever expected. He seems to be trying to maintain the tone.

Awesome. That’s actually the third trailer I’ve seen, and it’s probably the best one. I’ve been hearing rumors that the movie might get delayed or might not be released at all. What’s the latest news on that?
Outstanding, overall. Only concerns:
Yes, it’s the third trailer(I posted the 2nd one here also), but that 2nd one was mostly old footage.
To my knowledge, they are working on something to get Watchmen out. Obviously, they are marketing it like it’s coming out.
Looks good, very good. But Rorschach sounds too much like Christian Bale’s Batman.
Interesting use of Philip Glass’s Koyaanisquatsi soundtrack.
To hurt my head is to know that Rorschach (who does sound like Batman) is played by the kid from the Bad News Bears.
Rorschach’s voice was supposed to be flat and without inflection, not a pissed-off growl. OTOH, it actually looks like the comic: The Comedian going out the window looked pretty much as I’d imagined it. Could this possibly be…good?
I expected Dr. Manhattan’s voice to be deeper and more businesslike. But I guess it’s a minor nitpick.
While I don’t like this particular choice, it is understandable. You want people to watch and think about the movie, not wonder why there’s no Watchmen team.
Another thought just occurred to me. Perhaps Rorschach is using “watchmen” as a generic term for costumed adventurers.
It you think about it, a growl works better dramaticly than a monotone. Also, I would imagine it would be very hard for an actor to speak in monotone yet be as dynamic as Rorscharh.
So far, in the two trailers I’ve seen, it would appear that the director is using the comic as a storyboard. That is encouraging.
I’m allowing myself to get excited. I guess I should prepare to be disappointed.
Damn, you beat me to it.
Yes, it’s amazing to me that I can watch the trailer and directly refer shots to the panels in the comic. I find that both impressive and reassuring.
God, I can’t wait for this.
I’ve been cautiously optimistic since the first promotional stills. The first trailer gave me high expectations and this one did little to lower them. God I hope it’s good.
I think I’m in an ideal position to enjoy this movie. I didn’t read Watchmen until the talk about the movie got started, so I don’t have 20 years worth of built-up what-will-it-look-like-on-the-big-screen to overcome.
Bastard.
I am very excited about this movie.
I’m getting too old for this.
I thought the same thing. Snyder is definitely aiming for “class” with this production.
please don’t suck please don’t suck please don’t suck please don’t suck please don’t suck
Does Laurie really say “Save it [the world] for me” in the comic? I find that line disturbing, as though Jon’s motivations were being dumbed down from the “thermodynamic miracle” to simple lost love.
Or perhaps I’m obsessing over nothing.
If it does get shelved, I predict a rash of Hollywood executives and lawyers getting thrown out of windows in their high rise apartments.
She does not. That line bugged me too. In fact, most of the dialog in the trailer bugged me - though I hope it’s just out of context.
I know it’s just a trailer, but I really like how the shot of the Comedian in Nam fades to the funeral scene with the stripes on his shoulder guard merging with the stripes on the flag. It suggests to me such attentions will be paid throughout the film.
The guy who is playing The Comedian looks a lot like Robert Downey Jr. I thought it was him at first until I looked it up on IMDB. And they really need to change Dr. Manhattan’s voice. It just doesn’t fit at all.
