Nooooo, I waited too long to preorder! Amazon and Best Buy are out of the Collector’s Edition, and Future Shop wants me to pay $1.99 for the great honour of the shipping date Dec 10-Dec 21.
Look’t you, mister fancy, with your unicorn and your lance.
Thank you for pointing out the stupid updated cost. I happened to have 70-some Triumphs on Sleu, so I was able to downrank a handful of Frosts and pick up the melee Leather Heirloom pieces to bank for my Worgen.
But it will still work from 1-80, so they didn’t want people at 85 kitting out their alts so easily. But of course, it would be too fucking hard to leave it where it was and then change the pricing again for Cata. :rolleyes:
Unless you were also PvP flagged, that shouldn’t have been able to happen unless you had him set to Aggressive. Hrm.
So, you’ve got your Bane of the Lich King and Light of Dawn titles, then?
In theory. I’ve still only seen Warrior PvE gear a handful of times, and I’ve only won one roll on it. Still haven’t seen the damned DPS pants.
Green = 3 shields = maximum protection
Yellow = 2 shields = medium protection
Red = 1 shield = minimum protection
I believe the targets start with yellow/2 shields. You need to hit the target twice in a row with Shield Breaker, which will take it to no shields (the animation will go away). *Then *you need to use your charge ability.
Really, the “training” is terrible. It teaches you to do a lot of things that will not work in an actual joust with an NPC. The whole system is just pretty broken. If you get frustrated, I woudn’t worry about trying to figure it out–*everybody *thinks it’s a poorly designed mess.
Hahaha.
Not that I’ve noticed, and my gear is on the high end of things.
Yay! Keep in mind that things are going to be changing up with the new patch–don’t forget to learn your new talents. (We’re getting completely redesigned trees.)
Check wow.joystiq.com – the shaman columnist(s) posted an article that touches on enh shamans. And I suspect there’s one for rets as well. I know I’m waiting to try out Frostheim’s build but I’ll also be checking out EJ to see what they’re saying.
Heh. I’ve seen tons of Warrior tank gear, and no DK tank gear. In fact, on one run both the gloves and pants dropped and there was only one Warrior in the run. It was very early in the ICC patch too, so he was instantly one of the better-geared tanks in the guild. Of course, he was primary-spec DPS… :smack:

What I’ve actually noticed is that my toons get the ICC dungeons a ton when they are first available, and once I’ve outgeared them (hunter and DK both), I rarely get them anymore. This would make sense, as those toons that actually can use that gear are probably happy to get in there, while I just dread it, and would much prefer my 10-minute UK run.
Nah, he’s set Defensive. He’ll finish off one mob and come running back to me, completely ignoring the second mob that’s charging at him (you know, the patrolling mobs that aggro on your pet just as it finishes off the current mob and has already started back to you) unless that mob actually hits him or I give the attack command. Which means I end up with this second mob right on top of me. So I’m not sure why he attacked the tauren. The tauren was fighting the very next ogre down the tunnel, and as soon as my pet and I finished off our ogre, my pet headed straight into their fight and my PvP flag came on before I ever fired a shot myself at the tauren.
EDIT: Maybe my pet was actually attacking the ogre, and Growled, and that mechanically counted as an attack on the tauren and/or the tauren’s pet, due to proximity?
I’m still wondering how the tauren got Corki out of his cage (and thus got himself PvP flagged). You have to get a special key from the elite ogre boss in a different cave (obtaining said key being part of the Alliance quest chain to rescue Corki), and I don’t recall either Keliraeda or Jabloo — the only Horde toons I’ve taken through Nagrand — receiving a quest to kill Corki. The tauren appeared to be doing the Horde quest where you have to free a bunch of captured brown orcs, and to free them you have to collect keys from random ogres. There was an orc in another cage right next to Corki’s, so maybe this tauren inadvertently right-clicked on the wrong cage and some glitch let his key open it, whereupon Corki attacked him. Maybe it was similar to a glitch I’ve encountered in Icecrown. You know those caged death knights in Jotunheim that you have to rescue for an Ebon Blade quest? There’ve been a couple times where I’ve been fighting a vrykul next to one of those cages (while not on that quest), and the DK in the cage walked right through the wall of the cage, attacked the vrykul, and then walked back into the cage.
I’m sure annoyed at the timing of today’s patch. They’ll allegedly be finished around noon, which is right when I have to be at work. Then I have to be back to work at 6:00AM tomorrow, so I’ll get home tonight and have maybe an hour to take a look at the changes before I’ll need to get myself to bed. So I won’t really be able to take a hard look at the changes until after 2:00PM on Wednesday.
Damn you Blizzard! Why do you always drop these things during my job’s busy seasons? :mad:
Mister Rik, as a Horde who’s done that quest a number of times, I’ll note that tabbing to get your next target in that spot will pick up Corki as a target. I’m wondering if he accidentally attacked Corki, who popped out of the cage on his own and fought back.
The major thing that will probably be changing for you, Quasi, is your talents. They’re revamping the way talents work in a big way, and I can’t even begin to explain it because I’m very vague on how it’s going to work myself right now.
Tuesday night is not a normal WoW night for me (in order to remain on peaceful terms with my wife), but it’s just as well – things will probably be crazy tonight. I hate the suspense, though. Maybe at least it will give me a chance to go online somewhere and look at the holy pally and priest talent trees.
Anyone experienced hunters’ Focus yet? Mister Rik?? Does everything work the same as it did under Mana, except you need Focus instead of [y] Mana per action?
Suppose I’ll download the patch while catching up on House tonight.
Sorrta. It’s more like Rogues’ Energy. Stuff costs X Focus, but you’re constantly regenerating it at a fair speed. Rather than mana which can be like 41234 and you’re spending 2872 of it, Focus and Energy are always out of 100, which is nice and simple. But since it’s always regenerating, attacks which require Focus tend to cost more like 35-60% rather than 2-5%.
You’ve already experienced it with Hunter pets, actually. They use Focus.
Well, mine isn’t the collector’s edition, but I’ll be in line at GameStop at midnight 12.6.10. I hope there’ll be some other guys my age or I’m going to stand out like a turd in a punchbowl!
Kushiel, no stores like GameStop where you are? (But if it’s the collector’s edition you have to have, that will be a moot point anyway…).
4.0.1. is going to absolutely destroy my UI…I can look forward to spending the next week checking for updates on my old add-ons and seeing what hasn’t and won’t be updated and looking for replacements that won’t make me want to pull my hair out.
