Geez, you people are fast.
Okay…pet’s dead. I’m not lvl 10 yet. Am I screwed until I get Tame Beast at lvl 10, or is there a way to revive the starter pet without having Revive Pet?
Quasi – for the stuff that’s disappeared, you probably sent it to the wrong name… I’ve done that before, and if the person doesn’t exist (or does exist but never picks it up) it will get sent back to you. You could probably just open a ticket and have a GM track it down for you.
Not any more it doesn’t. Orange just means it’s more likely to give you a point. Yeah, I was pretty bummed when I found out too (was leveling my paladin’s skinning).
Never mind on this. I just looked in my spellbook and Revive Pet is in there (although it’s not on any of my action bars like all the other stuff…).
Bill, Wolkie And Silka: Our Times, Our Battles
(A snapshot of a day in Azeroth)
Wolkenlaufre: Man, Q, this is a new low for us, innit – wearing a sandwich board on horseback?
Quasi: Well, you know buddy, it’s all part of what we do: protect our people and fight the enemy. You’ve felt the shaking right along with me, you know this ain’t gonna be no cakewalk and folks are saying it’s the end times. We won’t have to wear it long, just visit a few places and inform and educate. We can do this.
W: Yeah, I reckon. It’s just that the outfit already looks pretty silly, I don’t really feature adding to the silliness. And speaking of which… when we gonna get some new gear?
Q: I’m making it a priority. It’s the reason we’ve been a little busier lately on the battlegrounds and farming. I want to hone your warrior skills so that when the time comes, we’ll be ready for this thing, and that takes money for equipment. Your bro Double L is busy in the auction house selling all the stuff you loot which has some value, and we’re building quite a war chest for you – just give it time, we’ll be ready.
W: Yeah, the battlegrounds. Dude, you’re not too comfortable giving me orders and directions, are ya? I mean Silka and me are riding back and forth and half the time we’re running into walls or falling down hills losing health! We’re getting’ a lot of LOL’s for that, and don’t even talk to me about dyin and rezzin’. Hell, we didn’t die that much when we were coming up the ranks together, what’s up with that? For that matter, what’s up with you, dood??
Q: Well, I’m having a few “losin’ health” problems my own self. Good days, bad days. You know how it is, right? Luckily I have a bunch of friends on this side who are helping me with planning strategy for you. It’ll get better – you’ll see, Wolk’. With their help and me making sure you and Silka are well nourished and strong as well as learning new skills both in battle and in your professions, y’all will be a formidable pair, I’m convinced of it. Just hang in there with me a few more days.
W: Oh, I don’t have a problem with your commitment or sincerity, but just as you care about us, we here on this side care about you and well, we worry, ya’ know?
**Q:**Well, don’t worry, Wolk-meister. Everything’s gonna be fine, and one day I’ll be on your side of the world and you and me and Silka will have some fine times together. I promise, okay?
W: Okay. But say, how you gonna work that out – transporting over here? I don’t think that’s ever been done. Not as far as I know anyway.
Q: You just let me worry about that part, partner. I have a friend who’ll take over for me on this side when I get ready, and my friend will make sure it’s a seamless process. You and Silka just find us a nice place to have a welcome party, and we’ll have us a rockin’ good time. And speaking of time, I need to get you over to the portal. Y’all are up for another Battle Group.
W: It’s not Wintergrasp, is it?
Q, laughing: How’d you guess?
W: Well, it wadn’t all that hard, Q! We’ve only been doin’ it like twice or three times every night for 2 weeks. Come on, Silka. Let’s go die and rez, die and rez, and die and rez some more. (Wolkie laughs, Q laughs and Silka whinnies).
Edit: I apparantly missed the post detailing the desire to send the pet in FIRST, before shooting; my answer is now invalid.
Put him on aggro and move in close and hope the mob’s all by his lonesome? ![]()
Do young hunters <10 have the defensive/aggressive/passive abilities for their pet?
If you choose defensive, it should not only attack when you are attacked, but also start attacking whatever YOU start attacking. So if the pet’s on defensive, and you jsut start shooting at a squirrel, the pet should take off after the squirrel, too. If you switch targets, it’ll stay on the original target. (Not that a squirrel would last long…)
This is my experience, though; I have not played a newbie Hunter under the new rules. I can’t imagine it’d be different, provided you have the stances for your pet, which are generic and by default, no training required or anything.
Someone upthread called it. When I turned lvl 10, I got Pet Control, which means that now everything works the way I’m used to. This is my first hunter since 4.0.1 dropped, and I still have my old-hunter head on.
Well, Thrall is definitely an improvement over either Artie Slowpoke or Whinie the Elf… (but I still want to beat whomever wrote her scripts for ICC - those need retconning, pronto!)
Okay, I missed a whole bunch of posts about the bandage farming, so a belated thanks to everyone for taking so much time to explain it. Since all that cloth in the bags is unusable, I’ll just vendor it - there doesn’t seem to be much going on in the AH for it.
And I understand about the skill window and know that I need to be farming HEAVY SILK, I was doing that last night, but dammit I forgot where I was! I looked at the flight paths and Stromgarde Keep sounds right, so I flew to Southshore/Hillsbrad, but can’t find my way there (stromgarde) NOW. I should have written it down, I guess. Oh by the way, mousing over the quest map doesn’t show ME where *everything *is - such as Stromgarde. The way I found it was by putting heavy silk cloth in google and I wound up (I think) in Stromgarde because I saw some monsters marked Syndicate and the whole thing was falling down, but I forgot how I GOT there.
I’m trying to do too many things: My tournament dailies, my battlegroups, my professions, the farming… I need to write a list.
Thanks y’all
Quasi
PS: I keep reading about needing to buy MANUALS, and the NPC that offer them, but I seem to be skilling up without them?
Old information, back in the days you had to buy manuals and do quests to get past certain skill levels, but these days the trainers in Northrend will teach you everything you need.
Would you check your mail and see if you got a bunch of leather, iceweb spider silk from Wolkie?:smack:
I think I know what happened that made me lose all that stuff last night. I had all the bags open, entered all the items I wanted to send to Double L, then hit shift B to close the bags.
When I did that, and because the mail window was still open it entered two names that begin with the letter B: Badlilsister and Bombadil. I guess I then hit send, didn’t notice and everything went to her because Ba comes before Bo.
Sorry, but could you check, please?
I forgot if it was Rik or Bosstone who rolled that toon to help me form my guild, sorry!
Thanks
Q
Glad the bandages thing is sorted but one confusion here is you do not need to farm HEAVY SILK just normal silk, indeed you will not find Heavy Silk as it does not exist that is the name of the bandage type. For each type of cloth bandage, linen or wool or frostweave whatever, there are always two types of bandages the normal bandage you learn first (which will take one cloth to make) and will be called “[Cloth] Bandage” and the upgrade version (which will take two cloth to make) and will be called “Heavy [Cloth] Bandage”. The upgraded version will heal you more.
So at 200 First Aid skill you’ll need to make roughly 15-20 Heavy Silk Bandages before you will be able to make Mageweave Bandages (at skill level 210) so farm up 30-40 Silk Cloth.
Jaina’s been a hopeless case since the Orc Campaign of WC III: The Frozen Throne. “I am the second most important Human ruler in the world. I led my forces against the Burning Legion itself and saved the world. I’m maintaining good diplomatic relations with a nearby civilization that probably outnumbers mine three to one or more. But when my daddy shows up with like five ships full of Marines, I can’t do anything but whine when he starts us on a disastrous war with that neighbor.”
Yeah, Jaina’s got a pretty defensible case of Daddy Issues.
Just checked, and Badlilsister has no mail in her mailbox.
Man, you guys are answering questions quickly and thoroughly. It’s like a conspiracy to head my walls of text off at the pass. ![]()
Started the loooooooong grind from Exalted with Aldor to Exalted with Scryers last night. A handful of eye turn-ins down… well over a hundred more to go. ![]()
That was great!
Okay, thanks Rik. I’ll create a ticket and see if a GM can help me fetch those things.
Q
Achieved skill level 225 (Artisan) in my First Aid profession tonight. Next stop: Vilebranch in Hinterlands and Dunemaul in Tanaris for mageweave cloths. I need 40, of which I already had 3 in mybags from drops.
As I said for the next skill level I am storing frostweave cloths in my bankbags
This is good, because I can pick those up in Northrend at several places.
Right?
Also we’re getting to see some places we didn’t quest at getting to level 80, so it’s a “sight-seeing trip” for us.
The “charge” button: Can’t be used on every enemy/animal, correct? I noticed this in Stromgarde keep.
Thanks
Q
You can use it on anything, but you can’t be too close or too far away. There is also a cooldown on it, so sometimes you need to wait a few seconds before you can use it again.
